Cloverdale High School Key Club A Little Bit About Us Cloverdale High School is situated in a rural community in northern California, about 80 miles north of San Francisco, in the middle of what is considered “wine country”. In recent years the community has attracted more and more retirees coming because they are fascinated by the beauty of the surrounding countryside and staying because they enjoy the close community spirit. There are approximately 400 students in the high school. The Cloverdale Kiwanis Club sponsors the high school Key Club.

For 2009-10 We have twelve officers who have all been through extensive training for their positions, including training at District Convention, the Division 32 Officers Training Conference, and training at the club level. These dedicated members met regularly during the summer months before the start of the school year to set goals and make detailed plans for reaching those goals. Every officer is determined to achieve Distinguished Officer status! Some of the goals for the year include: Participation in each of the Major Emphasis Projects that Key Club International recommends. These are: UNICEF; March of Dimes/March for Babies; Children’s Miracle Network; and Live 2 Learn Participation in the district projects: C.A.R.E. and Pediatric Trauma Prevention Participation in the division project: Pediatric Trauma Prevention Raising close to $15,000 so that we can send at least twenty members to the District Convention, as well as donate thousands of dollars back to our community Using a formal recruitment plan in an effort to gain more active members Improving our meeting format to include a more personal touch….. like “recognizing birthdays” Improving club and member communication with greater use of the website, and other means of technologically advanced communication Improving member participation with a variety of strategies, including a closer bond between experienced and inexperienced members Participating in all division activities and events Fostering a stronger bond with our local Kiwanis Club members Striving towards meeting district standards as a potential Distinguished Club and………………….
Most importantly –
Making a difference in our community and the world!
