December Division Council Meeting………Pg.16 Club News………………………………………….Pg.17 Division Leadership Team…………………….Pg.18

Hello there Dinos! It’s been a busy past month. During November we had Key Club Week. I hope you all did something to celebrate this special week. Also it was March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month, and on the 17th, it was world-wide Prematurity Awareness Day. I hope you all did something for this cause as well, whether it meant fundraising or just simply spreading the awareness and letting people know about it. Along with that, November was also Kiwanis Family Month, and hopefully you planned something with your Kiwanis, Builders Club, or any one part of the Kiwanis Family. Please remember that doing something for the March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness and doing something with the Kiwanis Family are not restricted to just November, but can be done all year round. Just recently we had our first Eliminator’s training workshop at the Salvation Army Center, and the turnout was great. Thank you to everyone who participated, and I hope you all learned a lot from it. I hope that those who were not able to attend, are successfully fundraising for the Eliminate Project, anyway. As we are approaching winter break, we would like to thank those clubs that were on time in turning in their dues. The legitimate due date of the year was December 1st. If you did not get your dues in, your club is put on suspension until such time as the dues are paid. What this means is that Kiwanis International will no longer cover your activities with their insurance. There’s more, but this is probably the most important consequence. Please keep in mind that elections should be starting off soon! And start planning for District Convention. More information will be coming soon! Please contact me or Ms. Cummins if you ever need help with anything. Club of the Month This month’s school of the month is Montgomery! Montgomery has been very active in showing up to division events such as the recent DCMs, training conferences, and service projects. They have also been doing much to help their community. Just recently they have been making leis to hand out to veterans at the local Veterans Parade. They have been working hard on fundraising for the Eliminate Project. Keep up the good work Montgomery! Member of the Month This month’s member of the month is Tommy Nguyen from the Santa Rosa Key Club. Tommy has been a very active member within Key Club, attending all division events, along with attending almost all of his school club’s events and projects. Keep on working hard! Rawring with Service, Thu Dang Lt. Governor

My experience at Awake-A-Thon was not anything I expected at all! I had an amazing time meeting new people and getting closer to them. Playing games, eating, watching movies, and staying up all night talking, getting to know each other better made the whole night fun. Meeting these people and enjoying their company even outside of Key Club is just spectacular, it is one of the reasons why I joined Key Club. I also loved learning about new Key Club ideas that we could use for our school club. Also, the ribbon leis we made for Fall Rally and learning chants was fun, and we got a good amount of bonding time out of that. Of course, the chocolate fountain was pretty much the only reason I stayed awake long enough to enjoy everything. We also had an amazing breakfast that morning. Awake-A-Thon was probably an experience I’ll never forget, because I made new friends that I now hang out with prior to division Key Club events; and that is the best thing ever. D32 Dinos Take Fall Rally North

What a blast we had!! "Our spirit ain't whack..." Meeting new faces from Key Clubs all over the northern half of California and Nevada was a spectacular experience. From riding on the Medusa to having "how do you feel “ cheer-offs, we connected with so many new faces. D32 definitely showed our purple and yellow Dino-pride at Fall Rally. It was all or nothing for us. Mary Tacaroni and Jessica Barbosa led all of our spirit cheers. Even though we chanted our hearts out, we didn't make it to the second round. However, D32 raised $3062.80 for the Pediatric Trauma Program! Helen Hernandez from Cloverdale and I were the bidders by the side of the stage, bidding on Lieutenant Governors and executives. Of course our spirit ain't whack with our cheers. During the bidding our division also chanted "I believe that we will win!!!" We had one spontaneous day at Six Flags Vallejo on October 18th, 2014. Go D32 Dinos!! Amanda Lau Santa Rosa Key Club

ELIMINATORS TRAINING DAY On November 15th, our region held a training day in order to jumpstart fundraising for the Eliminate Project! Mr. Robert Freeman came all the way from Palo Alto to tell us about the One Dollar for Life Foundation and how we could utilize their resources to conduct an effective fundraiser of our own. The Cloverdale Key Club then gave a presentation about other ways to get your community involved, informed, and excited about the Eliminate Project. In addition to educating those who attended the training session, a DCM was held and we completed an hour of service for the Salvation Army. All in all, it was an excellent day filled with fun, excitement and great ideas! Maggie Duran Cloverdale Key Club

Everything you could possibly want to learn about fundraising for the Eliminate Project has been uploaded to our region website. All the materials from the Eliminators Training Day are there!@

MARCH OF DIMES: PREMATURITY AWARENESS DAY

Cloverdale Key Clubbers took up their mixing bowls and oven mitts, but not just for the intent of enjoying some good old-fashioned pastries. November is Prematurity Awareness Month, and they baked to fundraise for the March of Dimes! Key Clubbers like Jessie Marshall and Alayna Lorence (pictured above) set up a table and sold their baked goods to raise awareness of the premature births of thousands of babies. Good job Cloverdale!!!

Great job working on Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, Division 32! But, just because Halloween is over, doesn’t mean we can stop fundraising for UNICEF! This is just a reminder to keep on working hard! Get that money in to help UNICEF in collaboration with the Eliminate Project! Don’t forget that all money you’ve fundraised should be sent off to Kiwanis International before December 31st, (if you want a patch for your banner). Also, a minimum of $250 donated is required to be eligible for a banner patch.

Hey Key Clubbers! As you may or may not know, District Convention (DCON) this year is approximately $600 dollars. Ouch… However, fundraising that much money will not be hard if you start now! It would be really worthwhile to go, because of all of the opportunities DCON presents. There are tons of workshops/events offered, and you get to choose which ones you want to attend! There are motivational speakers, officer training workshops, member workshops (such as “Recruiting and Retaining Members” “Motivating members”, etc.), and there’s even a Service Expo. But just as importantly, DCON is a lot of fun. You meet other Key Clubbers from around the district, (California, Nevada, and Hawaii), and see friends you have made at other events, (like Key Leader, RTC, and Fall Rally)! Also, you get to see who the district officers for the next year will be, and you get to learn about all the different service projects that the Key Club raises funds for!! There are many reasons why Key Clubbers love DCON, and I think that this year’s will be a blast! Liam Kluesener Cloverdale Key Club

Club News Cloverdale – by Maggie Duran  Within this past month, the Cloverdale Key Club has been serving the community-at-large; both young and old. We have attended events that required us to “babysit” children at our local elementary school; and we have been increasingly active at our local Senior Center. These various events have brought our members closer to each end of the age spectrum in our small community. The events at which we helped were: two school Family Literacy nights; a school carnival; and a senior center art auction fundraiser, at which we served food. It feels really good to know that our community organizations are comfortable asking for our help. Maria Carrillo – by Aimee Eagle and Cristal Reagh  On Saturday, November 8th, our club went to the Rincon Valley Dog Park and helped clean it up. We planted new grass seeds, rolled dirt and had lots of fun! On December 6th, we are all planning to do some bell ringing for the Salvation Army at our local food market. Montgomery – by Lisset Miranda  On November 11th, five Key Clubbers attended and helped at the Veteran’s Parade held in Oakmont. Right now, we are in the middle of the One Dollar For Life fundraiser. We have done our club education and now we are almost done delivering the boxes to each classroom. We will begin to collect the money after Thanksgiving. Piner – By Peter Tran  In the month of October we mainly fundraised. We were able to fundraise over $300 for the Pediatric Trauma Program, which we took to Fall Rally. Another fundraiser that we did had us selling lollipops for a dollar each. In that fundraiser we have an expected profit of $350. For Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, so far we have raised about $80, which we plan to increase with some other activities and projects. In total, we’ve recently raised $730 for various causes! Santa Rosa – by Kathy Pham  Santa Rosa High School Key Club has been involved in many various activities. One of the more prevalent activities is that we made hand-made beanies and bracelets in SRHS colors, (black and orange); and we are currently trying to sell them to students at our school to raise money for the Pediatric Trauma Program. We also held a bake sale at a Kiwanis meeting to raise money. Windsor – By Arayan Womack  We are working with the Spring Hills Community Church on a “Christmas Child” program. “Christmas Child” is when you get a box the size of a shoe box, and you choose a gender from the ages of 2-14, and you fill the box with little gifts. The boxes are shipped to children in need, so there is also a $7 shipping fee that has to be paid. Our members are really excited about this project.
