Hello Region 15! If you have been in school, I hope your experience has been great so far. Also, I hope you have all been using this opportunity of being in school to recruit new members into this wonderful organization. As the fall season is coming upon us, many Key Club events will also be coming up! One event is the biggest division event of the year and it is called Region Training Conference! This year’s theme for Region Training Conference is “luau” and I cannot wait to hopefully see you all there. Many fantastic presentations will be shared and we will also be having a special guest from the CNH District Board! The 2017-2018 District Treasurer, Vivian Chu will be coming from Region 9 to pay Region 15 a visit. Another big event after RTC is our Joint Awake-a-Thon with Division 8! As many may already know, Awake-a-Thon is Division 32’s annual overnight event, held in order to raise money for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Clubs should definitely start beginning to find chaperones for that event, in order to attend. Also, speaking of the Pediatric Trauma Program, I hope you have all been fundraising, because we will be doing our first turn-in for money during Fall Rally North on October 21st. I cannot wait to see you all soon; and as always, if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me anytime! With the Love of Service, Annaleigh Nguyen D20/32 Lt. Candice Desbiens Candice is a freshman at Montgomery High School. She dedicated her summer, even before entering high school, to volunteering with the club. Her work in the community will never be forgotten. Angela Sneed Mrs. Sneed is the Faculty Advisor of the Division 20, Humboldt Homeschoolers. She takes time out of her schedule to help organize meetings and events. Also, she has organized for a few members of the club to come to the Kiwanis Family House visit to turn in their money raised. This club would not be possible without her help.

Anahi Ruiz Anahi is the President of the Cloverdale Key Club. She has helped her club gain members in numerous ways. Also, she has gone above and beyond with planning events for her club and for the region. Leaders like Anahi, motivate others, and this is exactly what she does.

Kiwanian of the Month Piner High School Piner hosted a fantastic August DCM at the local park across from their school. They prepared an event full of activities such as dog toy making and a water balloon toss.

Tricia Shindledecker This Kiwanian dedicated hours of her day, every day to the Kiwanis International organization. She is not only a Key Club Kiwanis Advisor, but the Region 15 Advisor, too. Beyond Region 15, she also dedicates her time to help CNH grow as the District Board Service Projects Committee Mentor. When she is not sitting down working on Key Club work, she is out working hard alongside the Key Clubbers.

Relay for Life BY: DANAYEAT ABRAHAI MON TGOMERY Montgomery Key Club helped volunteer overnight at the Relay for Life. The Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. This year the Montgomery High School Key Club signed up to be a team, and along with walking for the night we also did fundraising at our camp site. We arrived early and helped hang up signs relating to the event and unloaded boxes of luminescent tools that were used as lights for the memorial bags that honor people fighting or ones who have passed from cancer. (At sunset, they were placed all over the track.) Shortly after helping unload the Luminaries, we placed signs about free parking all along Mendocino. We helped other teams and groups set up their tents and campgrounds and assisted with registration, registering walkers and survivors and giving them wristbands to show if they were a child or adult, and if they were staying for the day, or overnight. Lastly, we set up our own fundraising booth, a charging station where all the profit went to the American Cancer Society to fund research to find a cure for cancer. It was really fun and inspirational to help for a cause assisting so many people battling cancer.
