What’s PTP? ● The mission is to reduce the number of children in our District who are killed or injured by trauma. ● We partner up with children’s hospitals. ● The funds we raise enable our partner hospitals to reach out to their communities with educational materials, safety equipment, and information on childhood trauma prevention ● It also helps pay for advanced pediatric training for doctors, nurses and first responders ● And it allows them to purchase specialized pediatric medical equipment.

WE helped do THIS! ● This burn center in Honolulu was built with funds we helped raise! ● Before then, children severely burned in Hawaii had to spend 4 excruciating hours in a helicopter being flown to California for treatment! Some didn’t survive the trip!

Do a Spotlight on Service Project ● Each club should participate in the district’s “Spotlight on Service” focus. ● The focus for July is “Go Outdoors” ● This means that your club should plan or participate in events outside, encouraging people to enjoy the company of others and the outdoors. ○ These could be fundraisers, service projects and even meetings.

Attend Kiwanis Meetings ● Along with joint meetings, the officers of your home club should make an effort to attend a Kiwanis meeting this month. ● Each officer is held to a standard of attending at three Kiwanis meetings a year ● Not only will attending give you more of a perspective of how Kiwanis manages business, but it also gives you a chance to interact with them, so make sure to attend!

Hold a Board meeting to plan member recruitment ● In order to easily manage member recruitment, start now by inviting incoming freshman to service projects. ● Along with this, the Board should plan the beginning of the year, such as what you want to do for “club day” ● Also discuss how to keep incoming members involved ● Make sure to do 2-3 service projects in order to involve interested members and to avoid shutting down
