Luca’s Trip to Disneyland March 2017
At the airport in Oakland on Tuesday morning
Luca is pretty much happy, as long as he can play with his Legos!
We LOVED our hotel!
The lobby was relaxing and we found it a nice place to wind down!
From the giant fireplace ‌
‌ to the pianist, it was a great place to rest after having been in the parks
Luca loved the “kids area” where they played old-time Mickey Mouse cartoons
Our room was comfy and had a balcony that looked into the center courtyard
‌where we could see the Monorail coming through the foliage
Tuesday Afternoon We made our way into Downtown Disney and had lunch at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
Took a peek at “Marcelline’s”, and admired the candy apples, as well as enjoyed Pinocchio!
We just HAD to take a “quick” look in the LEGO store!
It seemed like it took FOREVER before we actually got inside Disneyland!
As you enter Main Street, you can see Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in the distance
Grandma and Luca explored Tarzan’s Treehouse
This is one of mama’s favorite rides!
It can look a bit haunted!
Ghostly dancers materialize
“Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize!
We rode the Tea Cup ride
We spent time in Toon Town
We road the “Go Coaster”
We went from one roller coaster ride to another!
First thing Luca said when he got off the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was, “Let’s Do It Again!”
We had a bit of a wait for the Electric Light Parade, but it was worth it!
Wednesday Started with breakfast with Mickey and Friends
Then we met Danica and Greg. Luca learned that he was most like Mickey Mouse!
We spent some time in California Adventure
We did the tractor ride, didn’t we? (If not, we should have!)
The “Cars” ride was fun!
Then we went “Soarin’ Around the World”
This is what the ride looks like‌.
You get to view some of the most incredible scenery in the world!
Then Greg and Danica headed back to Disneyland with Luca where they did the Jungle Cruise
Next up was…..
Grandma’s friend, Lyssa, met us and we went to the Beauty and the Beast Restaurant for dinner.
We had their specialty dessert, “Grey Stuff”.
Thursday Our plan was to go to Fantasyland as early as possible.
The first ride we did was “Dumbo”.
We did Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
We rode the Casey Jr. Train
Luca and mama went on the Storybook boat ride
Into the mouth of the whale!
We rested for a while watching the ducks in the Wilderness River
Then we got ourselves balcony seating at the Golden Horseshoe Saloon
We could barely make a dent in the hot fudge sundaes we ordered!
We watched the Golden Horseshoe Revue
It was time to head to Tomorrowland and do the Astro Blasters ride
Buzz Lightyear was our guide
Mom got the highest score!
It was finally time to use our Star Tours Fast Passes
C3P0 was our tour pilot
We blasted through the Galaxy
That evening we went to Tortilla Jo’s for dinner, met by Danica and Greg and Chris and Tina!
Friday We got to the Lego Store too early‌.it wasn’t even open yet!
At this point, it was just Grandma and Luca
So, we decided to take the Monorail into Disneyland
And, the first thing we saw when we got off, was the submarine ride!
While mama and Luca went on “It’s A Small World”, again… daddy and grandma rode InterSpace Mountain
After that, we headed over to Splash Mountain
On the way out of the park we got a picture taken with Cinderella!
We rested in the hotel lobby and made one last visit to the Lego Store in Downtown Disney!
It was a magically fun journey, but it was time to say, “Good Bye”.
