Hold a Joint Board Meeting Since the new officers have just been recently elected, it’s time to help them begin to understand how to perform their duties! The new officers need to begin to bond and learn to work together. It’s recommended that this be a training session lasting 1.5 or 2 hours with the 2015-16 officers training the 2016-17 ones.

Attend a Kiwanis Meeting Your club should set aside time in the month of March for newly elected officers to attend a Kiwanis meeting- or a Kiwanis sponsored event. There should be strong bonds between the Kiwanis and Key Clubbers, and this may be the best way to start that connection with your new officer team.

Continue Fundraising For DCON Try any of the following ways to raise money for your members to attend: • Do a tried and true bake sale • Request personal donations. Ask for a $25-$50 donation from any of the following: • •
Personal family (grandparents, aunts & uncles, etc.) Businesses with whom you have a connection (parent’s place of work, place you or other relatives work, etc.)
Prepare a formal letter of request as to why it’s important you attend DCON and remind them that their donation is tax deductible.

Another Way to Fundraise for DCON • Hold a “Teacher Most” contest. You should be able to pull this off in the next month, with school permission. • Ask teachers to agree to be involved and reward them with something. • Students “vote” with money for whatever categories you decide…. funniest, hairiest legs, most homework. Run the contest for a week and keep everyone informed as to who is “winning”.

One More Fundraising Idea • Take advantage of St. Patrick’s Day • Go to the Dollar Store and get items that might appeal to people • Set yourself up in front of a local store with a sign and table and ask for donations….. Explain you are raising money for “leadership training”. • Then give the items to those who donate as a thank you for their generosity.

D32 DCON Attendees Make sure ALL DCON (District Convention) attendees go to the mandatory DCON meeting on March 18th at 6:00 p.m. – 9451 Brooks Rd., South in Windsor.

Attend D32 Division Banquet Attend the Division Banquet on Saturday, March 12th from 2-5 p.m. It’s at 93 Stony Circle, Santa Rosa. Make sure to invite all your members and your Kiwanis members, too. Your advisors are also being recognized, to make sure they attend. This is Disney themed - so dress up!

Kiwanis One Day Contact your local Kiwanis club about plans for Kiwanis One Day and make sure your club is included. Make your Ohana strong!

Do at Least Three Service Projects Plan at least three service projects this month! Try to switch it up and do a craft during your meeting! There are so many awesome project ideas on the internet- so get creative!

D32 MRF Meetings w/Region Advisor If you think your club might be close to Distinguished status, schedule a meeting with Mrs. Cummins to go over Monthly Report Forms to insure accuracy before final report is sent off to the district.
