Casa Grande- They had club rush. They have been working at the MS bike ride. They helped out the bikers. They did a river clean-up. Cloverdale- They are fundraising for the Valley Fire victims. Made almost $2500 for that. Fundraising for PTP; helped at a community dinner; are selling See’s candies, and put boxes in businesses for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. Healdsburg-ABSENT Humboldt-ABSENT Lower Lake-ABSENT Maria Carrillo- It was reported that they have increased their membership from10 to 30 and they have been cleaning local parks. McKinleyville- ABSENT Montgomery- Reported that they had 40 people sign up at club day; they had a bake sale and worked to raise money for the fire; and had a dine and donate. Piner-They had club rush, 60-70 people signed up. They have been advertising for the Day and Night Festival; they are working on getting members to Fall Rally, mentoring younter children, and doing the Awake-A-Thon. Santa Rosa- They had club rush and 40-50 showed up; and they are also raising money for PTP. They have also been working at the Kiwanis omelet breakfast and advertising division events. Sonoma Valley-ABSENT Windsor- they had club rush; they grew in their membership. They are deciding on projects.
Unfinished Business Fall Rally-Daniela talked about Fall Rally. It is $36 at the door. If you don’t have the t-shirt you need to order it. Orders for t-shirts must be received by the 15th, sent to the Region Advisor, Sue Cummins. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF- You ask for money and it is sent off to Kiwanis International for the Eliminate Project, so that UNICEF can help children and mothers. The minimum amount of money is $250 to receive a patch for your club banner. You send this money to Kiwanis international. The Montgomery president mentioned putting boxes in businesses. Last year, Cloverdale had a Halloween party during lunchtime, with a costume contest, a chocolate fountain and more, and they got 100 people to come, paying $2 each. REFB Day- October 10th Other service opportunities in October – continue fundraising for PTP. Daniela talked about holding a bake sale. You can also hold a “pie a teacher” event where people pay to throw a pie at a teacher. You can hold a Kiwanis “takeover” meeting. You run the Kiwanis meeting and you get the money that they collect from their happy sad activity. You can also do a fundraiser during their meeting. You provide the program, maybe share the goals you’ve set for the year, or do an appreciation activity for them.

New Business: Key Club Week- (November 2-6) Monday is “Show Your K in Every Way” Day. Tuesday is “Kudos to the Key Players” Day. Supports. Wednesday is “Dare to Care” Day. Thursday is “Random Acts of Kindness” Day. Friday is “Connect the Ks” Day. March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month/Day- November &November 17th. Wear purple or hold a bake sale; do something to honor the month and/or day. March of Dimes money goes to research and help for families with premature babies. AAR Recommendations for November. i. Do something for Key Club Week ii. Hold a Board meeting. iii. Do something for March of Dimes iv. Continue fundraising for UNICEF v. Plan and/or do a Kiwanis take-over meeting. vi. Attend the DCM on November 14th vii. Do service events – 3-5 events for the club viii. Have 5 service hours per member Contest Training Day on November 14th. i. Location to be determined. Will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon (including a DCM) Fundraising for District Convention (DCON) & Key Leader & International Convention (ICON)i. DCON is April 8th through 10th. Try doing bake sales, sell See’s candies, and ask for your Kiwanis to sponsor you. Auction off baked goods at a Kiwanis meeting. DCON will be in Sacramento and it will be around $350. We will be going to the Kiwanis Family House, and eating at a restaurant in Old Town Sacrament. Ask for the registration fee for your members to be paid by your Kiwanis club. Lisset reported about how fun it is. The district is the largest in the world. There are 3 to 4 thousand people at DCON. If you receive recognition for something, you are awarded in front of these 3 to 4 thousand people! If you get elected to be an officer YOU SHOULD GO. Next DCM – Nov 14th; sometime during the 9:30 a.m. to noon event….. with the DCM lasting about 45 minutes.
