Option: Travel by AMTRAK • We would catch an AMTRAK bus in Santa Rosa, travel to Martinez where we catch an AMTRAK Train to Sacramento. • The reverse applies on Sunday • Travel times wouldn’t change much from our original plans, although we would get home later on Sunday CNH |

More on AMTRAK • If we traveled by AMTRAK we couldn’t do Kiwanis House or Old Town, because we wouldn’t have transportation. Lunch on Friday would cost about $10 less. • The extra cost per person would be about $75 ($67 for the train and $8 for taxis to get us to and from the train station and our hotel). CNH |

Financial Overview Don’t forget that your Kiwanis club should assist you in paying the registration fee. • The minimum suggested donation by them should be $115 per attending member.

So, you need $209 by February 10th. • How do you come up with $94 in 25 days?

CNH |

Sell See’s Candy Bars/Suckers • Mrs. C will purchase the boxes for you • You can sell them and pay her back • Each candy bar gives you $1 out of a $2 sale • Each sucker gives you $.50 on each sale

If you want to do this, she needs to know ASAP! CNH |

California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Get your Kiwanis Involved… Ask to be the program at an upcoming Kiwanis meeting Do a Bake Auction at a Kiwanis meeting and make sure they know how much money you need and why you want to go to DCON…….personalize your contact with them! CNH |

California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Do a Bake Sale One of the fastest and easiest ways to raise money is the traditional bake sale. Choose your locations wisely. Do one sale a week for the next three weeks, each sale at a new location, if possible! Make sure you have good signage to explain the need! Wear Key Club attire. CNH |

California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Ask Your Kiwanis club to… Front you the money needed to get registration in on time. Then, make sure to pay them back as quickly as possible. They may not be able to do this, or may not want to do it….. but it shouldn’t hurt to ask. Explain your deadline problem and see if they can help you figure out how to solve it@! CNH |

A Quick School Fundraiser Do a “Teacher Most” contest. Get preapproved pictures of teachers and display them at lunch. You can have ballot boxes where people can put in as little or as much money as they want. They can vote on things like funniest, cutest or ugliest and the teacher with the most money in their ballot box at the end of lunch wins. CNH |

California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Take Advantage of Valentine’s Day • This won’t get you money by the February 10th deadline, but it will get money to pay back your Kiwanis club (or meet the next payment deadline). • Don’t forget that you’ll also need to pay off the rest of your DCON bill to Cloverdale Key Club, which will be fronting the costs of the rest of the trip. CNH |

California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

So, You’ll Still Owe $131 after registration

• But you have almost TWO months to raise that money. It’s due to Sue Cummins by April 3rd.

• Don’t forget that there is an EXCELLENT section on club fundraising on the Region 15 website. Check under “Member Resources”. CNH |
