2. Attendance- see attached sign in sheet 3. The minutes from the previous Board meeting were approved as read. 4. The Treasurer’s Report balance on hand was $3954.67 . 5. Unfinished Business a. Awake-A-Thon- Our club will bring fruit, and will bring melons, a fruit platter, and other fruits. Jacob is taking charge of the fruit. Lillian moved that we spend up to $30. Seconded. Passed. We need another female chaperone, looking for moms who are willing. Jacob’s mon and dad said they would chaperone. b. Club calendari. Jessica moved and it was seconded and passed to approve the October calendar. c. Division newsletter- Members to go look at the last one made by Atziry last month. Carmen will send the newsletter to members.

All Board members were emailed a

membership contact list this afternoon. It was recommended that all Board members put ALL the member information into their cell phones. d. Club newsletter- Gaby Gaona needs articles from people. Be sure to turn them in to Sue by midnight on October 7th. The plan is for her to edit them and send them on to Gaby. Then, Gaby will try to produce the newsletter this weekend. Sue will edit it on Monday and it will be ready to share at Tuesday’s club meeting.

e. Club budget- The income is $16,150 and the disbursements are $16,150. i. Jacob moved to approve the Club Budget for 2016-17. It was seconded and passed. f.

Club fundraising plans- Planning to do Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Crab Feed, save the Rain, March for Babies, Pennies for Patients and more. i. It was moved by Anahi to approve the Club Fundraising Plans and calendar of fundraising activities. The motion was seconded and approved.

g. Refreshments at the October meetings- Rose will bring on the 11th, Carmen will bring on the 18th , and Uziel will bring food on the 25th. 6. New Business a. Executive Assistanti. It was moved by Carmen to approve Lillian Bearden as an Executive Assistant. The motion was seconded and passed. b. Youth Opportunity Fund Grant – Do we want to make a project? It was suggested that we do a project for the homeless, maybe coats for homeless, soup kitchen, possibilities to be explored, yet. We want to work with the Builders Club and the Wallace House. Gaby and Helen agreed to work on the application, which is due by October 15th. c. Fall Rally- You can get an all-you-can-eat meal plan, way more food than paying separately, but the deadline for purchasing meal plan tickets is coming up on October 14th. We need parent drivers; their way into the park is paid. We already have Kiwanis help, but need more drivers. We want to make cheer clothing at lunch with Key Clubbers. i. Atziry moved that Carmen spend up to $50 on supplies for cheer attire. The motion was seconded and passed. ii. Minimum donation for PTP: Alyssa moved that we donate a minimum of $1,200. The motion was seconded and passed. Right now we have about $800 collected. d. Kiwanis Marathon- We need members to attend although it’s the day after Fall Rally. We need members to help with tear down after the Kiwanis have been working hard all day. Sue is willing to pick up members in Cloverdale to drive them to Asti to help with the tear down. e. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF- We decided to talk about this at the next Board meeting. Members have been placing boxes around town in businesses.

Halloween party- Lillian and Alyssa were chosen as our chairpersons for the party. They will meet with Sue to form plans and then share those with us at an upcoming club meeting.

g. Kiwanis Take-Over meeting- November 3rd, we will have officers take over the Kiwanis meeting. Rose and Atziry will work on the plans for this. h. Presidential Goals- The Presidents presented a set of goals for this Key Club year. Gaby moved to accept the goals of the Presidents, with a few changes. Motion was seconded and passed. Revised goals are attached. i.

Key Club Week- Key Club Week is the first full week of November. Atziry and Rose are working on the plans and presented some suggestions. Some ideas were to have workshops during lunch; meet early to prep for the week; plan an overnight to bond more with our members; bring baked goods for teacher appreciation day; and send cards to teachers. Rose and Atziry will work some more on the plans and present the final version to the Board at the next Board meeting.

Fall Dinner- Lillian is chairperson; the committee planned the cost of pre-sale and tickets. They also planned how we were going to get food on the tables. Their goal was $1,800. We are planning to have students sell tickets. We are planning on putting flyers out on business boards. The members will be working on the flyers and other aspects of the project at lunch in the computer lab on Thursday of next week.

k. Member Orientation- Our VP’s plan to have an overnight in the school gym with the permission of the School Board. We will be having someone from March of Dimes as a guest presenter, as well as a panel discussion between Kiwanis members and former Key Clubbers. Carmen moved that we spend up to $150 on the Member Orientation event. The motion was seconded and passed. l.

Builders Club- Sebastian, from the Builders Club, wants us to go to the corn maze with them on Monday, the 24th of October. Details to come.
