Presentation and Objectives
The “Clube de Fotografia AEFAUP” (FAUP’s Students Association Photography Club) is an organization of people who share a common interest about analog photography, in addition to an architectural vision of the world. The Club aims to create a platform for the reunion of people with common interests who want to learn and shoot with taste. We want to share our knowledge by giving importance to the empiric way of learning. We base the integration and learning of our members in a system of tutoring, where the most experienced members have the responsibility of teach the more recent ones valuing the construction of their own autonomy.
Spaces
The “Clube de Fotografia” has two spaces:
The photography Studio (Estúdio de Fotografia) and the photography Laboratory (Laboratório de Fotografia) situated in the room 4.8 of the B Building.
Warning: There is a limitation in the laboratory, due to construction problems, that concerns the sewage system, which is not working. This problem requires extra careful when using the lab because the waters are channelled to plastic drums that must be dumped frequently. Whoever, this warning concerns only to the autonomous members.
Members
Normal Members
Everyone that still hasn’t got the skills and knowledge of the safety procedures of the laboratory is a Normal Member and can only access to the Laboratory when accompanied with a Autonomous Member. Autonomous Members Everyone that can prove to have the skills and knowledge of the safety procedures of the laboratory and the approval of the Direction is an Autonomous Member.
Material
The “Clube de Fotografia” would like to inform that we provide all the material and chemistry to develop black and white film and paper. Concerning the paper itself, we can only provide Expired one, being the responsibility of the members to buy their own paper, if they don’t want to use the expired one. We also have a Studio that has some Light equipment and a big table, where we have our little meetings. We are expecting to buy a background structure so we can photograph big architecture models.
Hours and Reservations
We have no hours limit, although you must make an previous reservation, to avoid overlap. Reservations are made by sending an e-mail to fotografia@aefaup.pt or by talking with one of the Autonomous Members We remind that only the Autonomous Members have access to the Lab.
Requirements and fees
The only requirement to be part of the “Clube de Fotografia” is to have a analog camera (Compact, SLR, TLR, Rangefinder, Lomo, Disposable, Pinhole, etc) preferably small or medium format. Everyone interest in being member, must be a AEFAUP member too. The member annual fee is 7 €, being included two film rolls of 12 exposures and 400 ASA. The Subscription is available at the AEFAUP.
