DE FĂCUT/TO DO Parcul Central
Parcul Central este mai mult decât un spațiu verde urban. Îndrăgit de clujeni și admirat de turiștii care aleg să se plimbe pe aleile lui, parcul a devenit în ultimii ani o zonă activă și dinamică. Poți admira aici două dintre clădirile emblematice ale Clujului: clădirea Casino, care este un adevărat centru de cultură urbană, precum și vechiul restaurant Chios. Iar lacul Chios, cu îndrăgitele sale rățuște de pe insulă, este mereu un punct de atracție, că e vară, că e iarnă.
Grădina Botanică
Recunoscută la nivel internațional datorită numeroaselor specii de plante deținute, Grădina Botanică „Alexandru Borza” din Cluj este și una dintre principalele atracții turistice ale orașului. Peste 10.000 de specii de plante își găsesc aici găzduirea! Pe lângă serele cu plante exotice și acvatice, serele cu palmieri, faimosul Turn de Apă sau Muzeul Botanic din incinta grădinii, vă recomandăm să vă bucurați în tihnă și de Grădina Japoneză și de Grădina Romană.
Central Park
The Central Park is more than just an urban green space. Loved by the locals and admired by the tourists who choose to stroll through its alleys, the park has become, in the last few years, an active and dynamic area. You can admire here two of Cluj’s emblematic buildings, namely the Casino building, which is a real centre of urban culture, as well as the old Chios restaurant. And Chios lake, with its beloved ducks on the island, is always an attraction, be it summer or winter.

The Botanical Garden
Recognised internationally because of the numerous plant species it houses, the “Alexandru Borza” Botanical Garden from Cluj is one of the city’s main tourist attractions. There are over 10,000 plant species hosted here! Besides the greenhouses with exotic and aquatic plants, the palm trees greenhouse, the famous Water Tower or the Botanical Museum located inside the garden, we recommend you enjoy at your own pace the Japanese Garden and the Roman Garden. Unirii Square
Probably the most representative image associated with the city of Cluj-Napoca, the Unirii Square, together with Saint Michael’s Church and the Matia Corvin statuary group, is a landmark for all tourists visiting the city. If you have the chance, do not hesitate to go up the tower of the church; you will experience an exceptional panoramical view of Cluj and of the buildings surrounding the Square.

Piața Muzeului
Aflată în centrul orașului, în mod paradoxal, Piața Muzeului este pentru mulți clujeni un spațiu al evadării din trafic și agitația urbană. Denumirea i se trage de la Muzeul Naţional de Istorie a Transilvaniei, aflat într-un capăt al pieței, însă, de-a lungul secolelor, piața a avut și alte denumiri (Piața Mică, Piața Carolina).

Ca punct de reper semnificativ, pe lângă numeroasele cafenele, baruri sau restaurante din zonă, avem Biserica Franciscană – una dintre cele mai vechi clădiri de cult clujene.
Cetăţuia
Cetăţuia este o fortificaţie construită în perioada Habsburgică, între anii 1715-1735. Cetăţuia a fost construită cu scopul de a oferi un control asupra oraşului, conform planurilor arhitectului militar Giovanni Murando Visconti. Astăzi, din Cetăţuie se mai păstrează doar cele două porţi dinspre nord şi sud-est, dar este un loc simbol al oraşului, care trebuie vizitat. Museum Square
Situated at the centre of the city, the Museum Square is, paradoxically, for many locals, a space where they escape from the urban traffic and bustle. Its name comes from the National Museum of Transylvanian History, situated on one side of the square; however, through the ages it was also known under other names (the Small Square, the Carolina Square). As an important landmark, alongside the many cafés, bars and restaurants in the area, we find here the Franciscan Church, one of the oldest religious buildings from Cluj.
Cetățuia (The Citadel)
Cetățuia (The Citadel) is a fortification built during the Habsburg period between 1715 and 1735. Cetățuia was built with the purpose of offering a point of control overlooking the city, according to the plans of the military architect Giovanni Murando Visconti. Today, Cetățuia has only two remaining gates, one towards the North and one towards the South-East, but it still is a symbolic place for the city, which has to be visited. Alongside the ruins of the fortress, the Cetățuia hill offers a unique and superb panorama of the city.

Cu un relief sălbatic, peșteri, cascade și o stâncărie spectaculoasă, Cheile Turenilor se află aici, la doi pași de Cluj-Napoca, între localitățile Tureni și Copăceni. Declarate rezervație naturală, dar și parc arheologic datorită numeroaselor obiecte care au fost descoperite în zonă (unelte, monede, ceramică), Cheile Turenilor te vor cuceri încă de la primii pași făcuți pe lângă firul apei.
The wild relief, caves, waterfalls and spectacular rock formations of the Tureni Gorges are here, only two steps away from Cluj-Napoca, between the villages of Tureni and Copăceni. Declared a natural reserve and archaeological park due to the numerous objects that have been discovered in the area (tools, coins, ceramics), the Tureni Gorges will win you over from the very first steps taken along the water.
Pereții înalți de până la 150 de metri se întind pe o lungime de 1,85 km, găzduind o varietate largă de plante și animale. Iar dacă ești pasionat de observarea păsărilor (#birdwatching) ai motive în plus să vizitezi rezervația!

Traseul prin chei este îngust și accidentat, iar pentru facilitarea accesului, Serviciul Salvamont-Salvaspeo a echipat versantul stâng cu scoabe metalice pentru picioare și cabluri din oțel. Cu ajutorul unui echipament minim, alcătuit din ham, lonje și cască, oricine poate parcurge traseul pe firul apei. Atenție însă: fără acest minim echipament, traseul nu este recomandat turiștilor neexperimentați sau care nu au o condiție fizică potrivită.
The route through the gorges is narrow and rugged, and for ease of access, Salvaspeo Mountain Rescue service has equipped the left slope with metal leg supports and steel cables. Using minimal equipment, consisting of a harness, quickdraws, and helmet, anyone can walk the route alongside the water. However, pay attention: without this minimal equipment, the route is not recommended to inexperienced tourists nor to those who do not have the right level of fitness. Bucatele clujenilor | Secolele XV-XVI. Prin anul 1453, în Cluj se dezvoltase o mică industrie a pâinii, cu franzelării, plăcintării și covrigării. Păstura, terciul, hrișca, orezul și porumbul erau frecvente în „meniul” de zi cu zi al clujenilor, iar de-a lungul Someșului, puteai zări grădini, livezi și vii. Vinurile acre, obținute din strugurii acestor vii, erau completate cu miere și mentă.
Dishes from Cluj | 15th – 16th Centuries. By 1453, Cluj had a budding bread industry, with bakeries, pie places and pretzel producers.
