HISTORY HUMBLE BEGINNINGS: 1998
A FOUNDATION TO GROW ON: 2014
The CMI-LC EMERGE Foundation was launched in August of 2016 as a supporting arm for CMI-LC. CMI was a merger of the visions of Dwight S Riddick and Ade' Walker in 1998. While students on the campus of James Madison University, these two visionaries synergized a small group of students to begin serving students on campus and grade school students throughout the east coast. The founding members were Carole (jones) Lucas, Aebony Shepherd, Jessena (Godfrey) Robinson, Erin (Randolph) Brown, Ayana Thompson, Dwight Riddick and Ade' Walker. It quickly grew doubling in months and quadrupling before the end of the semester.
After the unexpected passing of Co-Founder Ade’ Walker in November of 2014 the CMI team members rallied financially to support his wife April and the Walker Family. This was both the reemergence and recognition that CMI needed to have consistent funding that enabled us to
EXPANSION: 2000 Each week, then named Crowned Ministries (CM), would host bible studies on multiple days and in various locations throughout the week. In between these public study sessions the CM members would endure enhanced ministry training. This training included advanced bible study, practical teaching methods, dance choreography, event planning, vocal lessons and more. This training would be used during the summer as the CM team travelled to over 150 churches as SOLD OUT SAINT (S.O.S.), in the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and abroad hosting youth conferences and serving in concerts during the summer. In 2011 CMI transitioned to include business coaching. Then came CMI-Leadership Coaching.
leave a legacy. CoFounder Dwight Riddick put the idea in motion and felt the need to establish consistent funding to secure the future of CMILC the training sector, as well as equip others to partner in philanthropy.
In Memoriam of Ade' WalkerÂ
TODAY: 2016 - PRESENT August 2016 CMILC launched the EMERGE Foundation, known as the CMI- EMERGE Foundation to fundraise in route to providing for emerging student global leaders through philanthropy while simultaneously equipping others to become philanthropists. We look forward to what will be written in our future as we commit to this pursuit of excellence. .
