EL SEGUNDO COMMUNITY GUIDE & BUSINESS DIRECTORY 2025
Welcome!
Welcome to the latest edition of our Community & Destination Guide. As the current Chair of the Board of the El Segundo Chamber of Commerce, I am honored to serve this community that exemplifies innovation, collaboration, and philanthropy. Our city has often been described as “the most economically important 5-square miles in Southern California,” and I couldn’t agree more.
El Segundo is unique. We are proud of both our history and the fact that we continue to be an epicenter of creativity and progress. From cutting-edge tech startups, thriving aerospace ventures, groundbreaking entertainment and creative agencies, to our many popular breweries and restaurants that enrich our local culture, our city truly fosters an environment where big ideas take off. And what sets El Segundo apart is more than just its impressive economic growth. It’s the spirit of collaboration between the City, the Chamber, locally headquartered businesses, non-profits, and the families that call this special place home.
We are fortunate to live and work in a community where businesses and residents alike strive to make not just our town, but the world a better place. This deep sense of connection and responsibility is what makes El Segundo so special. It’s not just about winning “The Most Business Friendly City” award—though we’re proud to have earned that recognition multiple times—but about creating a place where businesses, residents, and impact organizations thrive together.
As we look ahead, the Chamber remains committed to advocating for our members, fostering growth, being a catalyst of local and regional economic development, and strengthening the relationships that make our city second to none. I encourage you to browse through this directory to explore the wide range of businesses, services, and resources that make our city so dynamic.
On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, thank you for being part of this vibrant community. I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year to continue making El Segundo a place where success, innovation, and community spirit thrive.
Sincerely,
Jason Haffley

the vast expanse of Los Angeles, where the energy of urban life converges with the tranquil coast, the unassuming city of El Segundo awaits. Just south of bustling LAX, El Segundo intricately threads together a distinct tapestry of deep-rooted community bonds, boundless opportunity, and a small-town
ambiance that charms both its cherished residents and visionary business leaders. El Segundo has always been connected to business; the internationally renowned Chevron is why the city was founded and the origin of its Spanish name. El Segundo means “The Second,” an apt name for the location of Chevron’s second major refinery, established here in 1911. The refinery’s presence and evolution have defined El Segundo’s narrative. What was once a simple oil town is now a thriving, bustling industrial hub and vibrant community.
EL SEGUNDO’S TAKES TO THE BIG SCREEN
El Segundo has been a preferred location for scores of major films, ranging from 1934’s epic film Cleopatra directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starring Claudette Colbert (LEFT), to I Spy and The Fast and Furious. In fact, El Segundo-headquartered EP Industries created the cars for The Fast and the Furious movie series. And in Star Wars, A New Hope the Death Star control room is the real control room at the Scattergood Generation Station, a natural gas-powered steam plant in El Segundo. As you might expect from a working power plant – and an Imperial battle station – it’s not open to the public.

OUT OF THIS WORLD
Located within the largest satellite manufacturing facility in the world, Boeing’s El Segundo site spans 1 million square feet (92,903 square meters) and will feature a production line dedicated to small satellites. This initiative will be driven by Millennium Space Systems, a subsidiary of Boeing. The two companies are utilizing cutting-edge and additive manufacturing methods, such as 3D printing complete spacequalified satellite buses, to enhance production speed and performance. Staffed by Millennium’s experienced team, the small satellite factory will leverage the subsidiary’s established processes and infrastructure, along with specialized environmental testing capabilities designed for small satellites.
Additionally, Boeing will offer its extensive expertise in environmental and specialty testing, which has been instrumental in qualifying renowned spacecraft—including the first vehicle to achieve a controlled soft landing on the moon and over 300 satellites.
El Segundo’s proximity to LAX determined much of its international reach. Now deemed the Aerospace Capital of the World, El Segundo proudly carries the torch of that illustrious legacy, with industry giants like Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman shaping its narrative. These aerospace leaders define the city’s history and actively contribute to its dynamic and forward-looking spirit.
The growing business ecosystem has continued to draw new industries, including major professional sports teams. Dean Spanos, Owner and Chairman of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers, chose El Segundo as the Chargers’ new home base a few years ago.
“This process played out for more than four years because we weren’t willing to settle,” Spanos says. “Good enough wasn’t going to
cut it. We wanted great, and we finally found it.” El Segundo provides the Chargers a strategic haven, positioning them near the airport, their stadium, and business titans of other industries.
“To be able to develop 14 acres of prime real estate,” Spanos continues, “with the proximity to LAX, SoFi Stadium, Silicon Beach, more Fortune 500 companies in the state than anywhere except San Francisco, and, of course, neighbors like the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings – it’s another major step toward building a perennial contender and further rooting ourselves in the community we serve.”

Projects like The Point shopping center and Topgolf have revolutionized a once quiet part of El Segundo. The Point sees thousands of shoppers and diners every day. International sports apparel brands like Lululemon, Nike, and Athleta draw active SoCal locals like moths to a flame. Unique dining experiences, from True Food to Hop Doddy and Little Sister offer something for everyone. Quick stops like Cava and Mendocino Farms service both in-person diners and thousands of locals in food delivery services. The Point’s central grass area hosts an amalgam of community
events, from official summer concerts to birthday parties to casual Sunday football tosses.
The Point so accurately embodies the spirit of El Segundo - a thriving business hub that centers on community, connection, and family.
Topgolf is everyone’s favorite family-friendly experience. With hundreds of hitting bays, excellent food and drink options, and state-of-the-art facilities, both the avid golf fan and the neophyte can enjoy a day at Topgolf. As one of the few locations on the West Coast, the El Segundo Topgolf brings visitors in from all over the country.

SILENT NO MORE
The Old Town Music Hall is a beloved cultural institution that traces its origins back to the 1960s. It was established when two musicians, Bill Coffman and Bill Field, acquired the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Pipe Organ from the Fox West Theater located in Long Beach. They then placed this magnificent instrument in the charming El Segundo State Theater, which dates back to 1921 and has a seating capacity of 188. Since its inception in 1968, Old Town Music Hall has been dedicated to showcasing classic silent and sound films while also hosting live performances featuring some of the most talented jazz, ragtime, and popular music artists from yesteryear. The silent films are brought to life with accompaniment from the Mighty Wurlitzer—a grand pipe organ built in 1925 that boasts over 2,600 pipes and has been carefully maintained to provide an authentic experience reminiscent of its original screenings.
openness has always defined El Segundo’s approach to city development.
El Segundo is a blend of metropolitan energy and a tight-knit community filled with people deeply committed to their neighbors. Mattel, a pilar of El Segundo for decades, has never been more popular, with its massively successful and meaningful 2023 Barbie movie. Tech giants like AT&T and Belkin call El Segundo home, as does beauty industry leader L’Oreal. El Segundo’s varied business industries make it what it is - a vibrant community composed of people from all walks of life, places of origin, ways of thinking, and socioeconomic levels.
Promising jobs and steady industry brought nearly all El Segundo’s residents to the city. A longtime local and volunteer, Barbara Briney, moved here at 10 for her father’s welding business. She’s been here ever since. “I stayed, graduated, and got married,” she said. “[We were] planning to leave, yet an opportunity arose, and we’ve been in El Segundo ever since. It’s pretty amazing; there are lots of stories just like ours.” Barbara’s account captures the essence of El Segundo’s allure—its ability to offer more than meets the eye,

going deeper than the perfect weather and proximity to Los Angeles. El Segundo may have started as an industrial powerhouse, but it is what it is because of its people.
Rob Croxall, the owner of El Segundo Brewing Co., has lived in El Segundo his whole life. When he had the chance to start a brewery, there was no other place in the world he wanted to establish roots in. “It’s just a great place to live,” he says. “It’s a safe community, with good schools... a small-town atmosphere. When I come to the brewery or go to Slice & Pint, I know people there every time.”

Whether at the brewery or Slice & Pint, each visit is a reunion with familiar faces, turning establishments into neighborhood hubs where relationships thrive. El Segundo Brewing Co. stands out as more than a typical brewery—it’s an institution. With its diverse selection of craft beers and an ambiance that encourages socializing, it’s a place where beer enthusiasts and neighbors come together. Similarly, Five Point Five Brewery, with its name paying homage to the city’s 5.5 square miles, adds a unique touch to El Segundo’s brewing scene. Boardroom, , and Brewport Tap House each, in turn, bring their own flavor to El Segundo’s prominence in the world of beer.
The city’s economic evolution, carefully nurtured by the city council, has transformed El Segundo into a business-centric town that is also a wonderful place to live. Croxall notes, “It’s a place where people know each other, support each other. You just don’t get that in many other places.” The close-knit community, often elusive in bustling metropolises, is El Segundo’s defining trait. Croxall adds, “It’s a community you don’t find anywhere else, especially in Los Angeles... It’s its own little island where there’s still community pride and good, respectful people with no pretense.”
Though the city was founded on industry, El Segundo’s soul resides in its vibrant residential life. Sheila Fowler is a local real estate agent who has called El Segundo home for over four decades. “I always felt so safe and at home here in El Segundo,” Fowler says. “The only reason we would have ever left is if we were transferred through work. If you’re not transferred through work, most people just love it in El Segundo and really want to

stay there.” People come for the jobs and stay for the people. “Whenever I left, I loved coming back home.”
El Segundo thrives on an interconnected relationship between its diverse economy and engaged residents. And the spirit of their community is one of giving back. Actively participating in schools, events, and local organizations is the norm.
This shared commitment reinforces El Segundo’s ethos of unity, creating an exceptional place to live, work, and thrive. Barbara Briney recalls, “[El Segundo] is a community that expects and supports excellence from its residents, making it a really good decision for us and instrumental in raising our kids.” These values run beyond the simple expectations of a place to live; they exempli-
fy generosity and service. “It was the friends that we made here through our children that kept us here,” mentions Fowler.
As El Segundo continues to evolve, its commitment to preserving the small-town charm one can find strolling down Main Street or attending a little league baseball game at Brett Field remains unwavering. From the grassroots involvement of residents to the diverse business landscape, the city thrives on the harmonious interplay between tradition and progress.
From El Segundo’s roots in aviation to its current status as a technological and cultural hub, the city’s journey reflects the aspirations, resilience, and warmth of the community. As the city continues to evolve, one thing remains constant—the spirit of El Segundo, a beacon that draws people not just to live and work but to be a part of something extraordinary. n

Our bodies are the most important asset we forget to care about until something “happens.” Taking our “It’s-Working-WellRight-Now” body for granted is extremely common – it’s just what people do.…until our body doesn’t work well. Until we break a bone, have an ache, get a disease or watch someone else in our age bracket face a health issue, we don’t get serious about wellness. And we all know when something goes wrong with our health, life can come to a complete standstill as we search for the right doctors or wellness community to help us become stronger, better, healthier.
El Segundo, a vibrant city filled with pro-active, pro-wellness citizens, is a place that prides itself on supporting health and wellness. When cities make health and wellness priority number one, entire communities change. When one neighbor faces a health challenge, many El Segundo health and wellness businesses are ready and waiting
to help you take your health serious and solve any health crisis so you feel better.
Torrance Memorial Medical Center, a nonprofit health system, offers all the services you need for preventive care as well as treatment when facing a health challenge. El Segundo Unified School District (ESUSD) is not just a public education institution; it’s a destination for innovation and career readiness. Under new superintendent Dr. Jason Johnson, who previously led Hermosa Beach schools, ESUSD is embarking on an exciting journey to connect classroom learning with the dynamic industries that thrive within El Segundo’s 5.5 square miles.
Dr. Johnson believes that El Segundo offers some of the most innovative industries in the United States, if not the world. His goal is to ensure that students aren’t just learning within the four walls of a classroom but are also tapping into the vast resources and career opportunities available in this unique community.
In an ever-evolving job market, with green technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity on the rise, preparing students for the future requires more than just traditional education. This is why El Segundo is focused on a new era of hands-on career exploration, helping students develop the skills and experience they need to thrive in future industries.
EDUCATION
Here are some elementary examples of how the classrooms are connecting to future industry readiness:
• Eagle’s Nest Preschool: At this early learning center, students get to explore science and engineering through play. By working together, students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, sparking a lifelong interest.
• Richmond Elementary School: The “Eggcellent Egg Drop Challenge” brings design learning to life for 4th and 5th graders. Students apply physics and engineering principles to design contraptions that protect an egg from breaking. This hands-on experience encourages creativity, teamwork, and experimentation.

DA VINCI IS ACCESIBLE
Paying for college and completing college can be hard when life gets in the way. Of the 70% of U.S. high school grads who go to college, only 60% graduate after 6 years. Most leave college with debt and no degree.
That’s why at Da Vinci, we have created affordable (free!) and flexible pathways leading to AA or Bachelor’s degree completion at Da Vinci Connect High School and Da Vinci Extension, in partnership with El Camino College, UCLA Extension, and Southern New Hampshire University.
At the heart of their mission lies a clear purpose; Engage, Empower, Elevate. They engage students, staff, parents, and the community to foster open communication and collaboration, cultivating a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for our educational mission’s success. They empower individuals to take charge of their learning and personal growth, fostering self-efficacy and resilience through support structures and meaningful experiences. Additionally, they elevate by driving continuous improvement and excellence, promoting innovation, critical thinking, and equity for all students.
When Da Vinci Charter High School opened in 2009, they provided six free public schools with smaller classes and specialized learning for students who wanted a deeper dive into their future goals. Da Vinci students are preparing for college, career and life simultaneously through a project-based, real-world curriculum that is shaped by industry and higher education partnerships to ensure their students have access to a broad range of choices when they leave Da Vinci. How has the Chamber benefited your business?
Matthew Garth Communications Manager

The Chamber is a vigilant and thoughtful advocate for the interests of El Segundo businesses with important government and community stakeholders.

The El Segundo Chamber has been instrumental for our business in connecting with Community members and other business owners and their employees. Through the various networking platforms offered by the Chamber, we have been able to met so many customers. The Chamber also provides pertinent information that pertains to the needs of our retail business as well as educational seminars. Our El Segundo Chamber of Commerce is an important resource.

The Chamber has helped me in building relationships throughout the city. I am very grateful to be on the Board of Directors for this wonderful city.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist SOUL 2 SOUL HEALING, LLC
I love going to Tapazion; Sausal; True Foods Kitchen and so many more!
Leonard Koike
Senior Director RAYTHEON
I always try to hit one of our great restaurants in downtown and walk around to showoff our beautiful historic buildings (e.g. Old Town Music Hall or even the high school).
When friends come to visit me in El Segundo, I love to treat them to our fabulous restaurants. Whether they like steak, Mexican Thai sushi or a great beer and hamburger, we have it all.
What’s your favorite thing about El Segundo?
Barbara Boehm Director of Operations ESMOA
Experimentally Structured Museum of Art is run by artlab21 Foundation a 501 (c)(3) public non-profit organization
One of my favorite places in El Segundo is the Old Town Music Hall, a cultural landmark, together with one of my favorite new traditions, being part of the annual Art Walk that brings together reimagined creativity and community.
Lily Craig Chair of the Board CHEVRON RETIREE
It is impossible to pick a favorite thing about El Segundo. I love everything about it. I’ve worked here for 42 years and have lived here for 33 of those years. The people are amazing, the businesses are supportive and the schools are stellar. You just don’t see that in other communities. El Segundo used to be a well-kept secret, but not anymore. We are a destination City for education, for commerce, for the best beer and for top rated restaurants. Couldn’t be any happier to call El Segundo home (sweet home)!
Jac Folklert Area Director, Marketing & Community Outreach
UCLA HEALTH
The people! El Segundo is a great city filled with incredible people and I am grateful to be part of the Board of Directors. (What a great group!) It is often said that what makes a city is “location, location, location” and El Segundo certainly has a great location with a vibrant business center, easy access for travel and its own beachfront. But what I enjoy most about El Segundo are the people, they care about the area and one another. It is a special place.
Jason
Haffley President HAFFLEY CONSULTING
I love that El Segundo is a unique blend of “Main Street USA” and a thriving economic epicenter. It’s a special community that prioritizes our residents’ quality of life while simultaneously being the proud home of innovative startups and Fortune 500 companies.
McKenzie Neely-Wright External and Legislative Affairs Manager AT&T INC.
El Segundo has everything you need from a shopping and dining perspective. There are so many options to choose from and it makes it very convenient to work and entertain in the area.
Maura Slavens Sr. Executive Board Manager KINECTA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
The people and the small-town feel are what truly brings the magic to this town. Raising our kids here has been such a great experience. When they were little, they enjoyed classes at Rec Park swim lessons at The Plunge and story time at the ES Library. Through their elementary (Richmond Street School) and middle school (ESMS) years they, enjoyed playing baseball (ESLL and Babe Ruth) and soccer (AYSO) and continued to play baseball in high school (ESHS) as well as basketball. This town truly is a community in every sense of the word, and I am so thankful for my village, especially my fellow El Segundo Rotarians and Chamber of Commerce members as you are the doers in this town that keep its heart beating!
Sandy VandenBerge Director, Planned Giving TORRANCE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
My favorite thing about El Segundo is its small-town charm with a fabulous Main Street, outstanding restaurants, amazing people and fantastic events held by the Chamber throughout the year!
Heidi Wang Development Officer EL CAMINO COLLEGE FOUNDATION
When we first moved to El Segundo in 1998, we knew nothing about this hidden gem of a town. Newly married, El Segundo’s central location and close proximity to LAX was perfect for my husband’s business travel. Little did we know that we would embrace this quaint coastal community and love raising our family here. From the down-to-earth people, to the exquisite restaurants, to the fun breweries, to the terrific schools, to the Fortune 500 presence, combined with its casual beach culture, we have been proud to call El Segundo home for 25 years.
How does the Chamber help the community?
Shiela
Fowler
Realtor BEACH CITY BROKERS
The Chamber, through fun events, gathers the community together. Take, for instance, the annual Main Street Car Show. This is the time for hardcore car enthusiasts and fans to slowly wander down Main Street. Families, car shoppers, and the community all come together to celebrate car culture. We see Dream Cars, Custom-Built Cars, and Prized Vehicles for blocks. Participating automobile owners have been searching for parts and building their custom cars for decades. They customize hub cab style wheels, tires, mirrors, racing stripes, upholstery…you name it. They can’t wait to show off their beloved cars. This special day gives shops, restaurants, and community organizations a chance to sell their wares and help stimulate the local economy as our welcomed strollers and visitors contribute their dollars.
Marsha Hansen CEO/President EL SEGUNDO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE\
One of the El Segundo Chamber’s “superpowers” is connections. We develop long lasting relationships with our business and community leaders and work to bring people together to create valuable partnerships. We connect new and current businesses with resources, tools and potential customers. A new family moving into town? We connect you with schools, your new medical team, community events, great restaurants and the wonderful experience of being a part of the El Segundo community! Reach out to us and let us connect you!
Sherry Ann Kramer Director of Community Relations & Marketing CONTINENTAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
The Chamber is a major component to the community, whether providing key events such as the State of the City, Salute to Military or partnering with the local School District. They inform the greater community of issues in town and provide resources in which to get more information. Together, the Chamber and the City have a very positive partnership that benefits residents and the business community.

The chamber helps the community by promoting economic growth, supporting local businesses, organizing community events and initiatives, providing resources and support for entrepreneurs, and fostering networking opportunities that strengthen relationships within the community.
Jessica Vincent External Affairs Representative CHEVRON
Through its annual events, the El Segundo Chamber creates community and enhances the quality of life for residents.
Barbara Voss Deputy City Manager CITY OF EL SEGUNDO
The Chamber is an amazing organization that helps the community in so many ways. They manage large events and small gatherings alike and create opportunities for business leaders to support and get to know each other. The Chamber CEO, Marsha Hansen, is an integral part of the El Segundo community and goes above and beyond to support businesses while volunteering countless hours to support non-profits and community organizations. The Chamber Board includes an impressive group of business leaders from many industries. It’s an honor to serve on the board and a pleasure to work with the Chamber.
