Promise Bible MY FIRST

FLASH CARDS

How to use the Promise Cards Use the cards to bring a fun and fresh element to reading My First Promise Bible with your child. There are lots of ways that you can use these cards with your child in conjunction with the My First Promise Bible book. There is a Promise Card for each story. A few ideas to use the cards:  Let your child pick a card, and then read that story to them.  Make a fun game of finding all the promise icons that are the same:  Make piles of the cards that have the same promise icons.  Explain one of the gifts to your child in the context of the stories illustrated.  When your child is familiar with the stories, let your child pick a card from the illustrated side of the card. Let your child tell you which story is illustrated or, tell them the story title if they do not know. Then read the story together.  Show them the picture of the gift icon on the card – look up the explanation of the gift in the infographic on page 9 of the book, and talk about it together.

Each Promise Card includes:  the title of the story  the main picture from the story  the page number where you can find the story in the book  the promise icon that is illustrated as a gift, and the child-friendly highlight of how that gift from God is shown through the context of the story. There are five gifts or “core promises” that are highlighted in My First Promise Bible. They are explained on the Five Core Promises card in this pack and in more detail in the infographic page 9 of the book.

God’s five core promises  My First Promise Bible emphasizes five of God’s core promises. Each one is illustrated and explained as a gift.  Look out for the gift icon that highlights one of God’s core promises in each Bible story and Promise Card.  Use this card or the infographic on page 9 as a guideline when you discuss God’s core promises with your child.

God’s love GOD’S LOVE FOR ME IS BOUNDLESS

When I see a heart, I remember that God loves me very much. He takes care of me and protects me. He wants me to be happy.

I belong to God THROUGH JESUS, I AM GOD’S CHILD

God loves me so much that he sent his son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins. He made me special and chose me to be his child and serve him. I now belong to God and his kingdom. I remember this when I see a cross.

New beginning JESUS FORGIVES ALL OF MY SINS

Jesus forgets about the bad things I have done and forgives all of my sins. In doing so he gives me a new beginning, and a chance to try again when I have made a mistake. Through him I am like a little plant growing fresh and new. I remember this every time I see a little seedling grow.
