Many Windows-generated files are fine to use, but please ask if you have questions. • Ads designed in non-professional design applications (particularly Microsoft products) will not be accepted. If your ads are designed in one of these applications, we will have to rebuild them.
Specs for Art Files • 180 dpi/ppi minimum for halftone art, sized at 100% (for your ad’s art usage). • Line art (bitmap) should be higher resolution as needed for clarity. 600 dpi/ppi is recommended. • Do not use art from your web site, as 72 dpi/ppi web images print poorly.
Artwork/Color If your ad has 4-color artwork (process), please verify that your art files are in CMYK mode, rather than RGB, so they will separate properly. It’s a good idea to print a set of separations yourself before submission, so you know your art will work. If your ad uses spot color, please verify that your file will ONLY print one color plate and one black plate. NOTE: There is a slight color shift in spot colors converted for a full color page placement. Client will not be charged for the additional plate charges incurred by this process.

Billing & Credit Policies
The Kansas State Collegian gives you an unequaled opportunity to reach a unique market. When you advertise in the Collegian, your message is distributed to 21,093 students and 5,049 faculty/ staff members. The Collegian is distributed daily, Monday through Friday during spring and fall semesters, and is free of charge. During the summer, the Collegian is distributed on Wednesdays. We distribute at high traffic points both on- and off-campus, including residence halls, greek houses, and selected convenience stores. K-State is Manhattan’s largest employer and includes people of all ages and from all parts of Kansas and the United States. In addition, K-State has welcomed about 700 international students from more than 70 countries worldwide. If you advertise in the on-line version of the Collegian, the eCollegian, you will reach an even larger worldwide audience. Check out the eCollegian at kstatecollegian.com.
All new accounts will be required to pay in advance until credit is established. New businesses usually require one year of operation before credit is extended. All accounts more than 30 days old will be charged a 1 1/2 percent finance charge. This is an annual rate of 18 percent. Accounts that are unpaid after 60 days will not be extended credit and a significant portion of the balance must be paid before further advertising is accepted for publication. Verbal agreements, promises or waivers of any nature not contained in this rate card shall not be binding. A $20 fee will be charged on all returned checks. In case of error or omission, the Collegian shall not be liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not lessen the value of an advertisement. The Collegian liability for other errors or omissions in connection with an advertisement is strictly limited to publication of the advertisement in any subsequent issue or the refund of any monies paid for the advertisement.
