The Arizona Daily Wildcat Training Program The University of Arizona

The Arizona Daily Wildcat’s training program seeks to prepare employees for the professional field following college. Our goals are to demonstrate the value of our core products, emphasize the importance of customer satisfaction and build confidence in our Account Executives to achieve success post-graduation. In order to accomplish our goals, we train over a five day work week that includes the following breakdown and individual day goals. Day 1: Part I: Goal: To inform our Account Executives on their job responsibilities, the structure of our office and our available core products. Main Topics: 

General Information about the Daily Wildcat o Employment Responsibilities o Dress Code o Polices & Procedures o Advertising Acceptability o Tour of the office o Introductions to fellow staff members and co-workers Publication Details o Distribution o Special Sections o Separation between newsroom and advertising staff New Hire Paperwork

Day 1: Part II: Goal: To educate our Account Executives on and how to present all of our available rates and various pricing structures. To demonstrate the process of placing an ad and how to fill out appropriate paperwork correctly. To make our Account Executives as confident and knowledgeable of our products as possible. To send each new employee home with real life practice problems allowing them to have questions the next day. Main Topics: 
