Naughty or Nice Sales Incentive Program UNC Charlotte In order to increase end-of-year sales, we held the Naughty or Nice contest. To add a bit of humor to the sales incentive, all of the account executives were photo scanned and edited to look like elves. The visual was on the front door of the office. The elves were in charge of making presents for Santa so he could go around the world to deliver them. The account executives earned “presents” by making sales goals, sales to new clients, helping with any Niner media events, and working additional hours. Elves also received lumps of coal for not working enough hours, missing business meetings, or not making enough phone calls. This kept everyone motivated to work harder. The contest objectives allowed for anyone to be the winner, not just the top account executive. This increased everyone’s productivity, which then helped increase his or her sales numbers. Having the visual on the front door allowed for everyone to see their progress so they could work harder to surpass their peers. Results The sales incentive program started off a bit shaky, as it took time for the account executives to realize how easy it was to make points to win the contest. As you can see by the graphs, at the end of the contest the account executives surpassed the sales goal for the last issue of the semester by $2,755. They all went on more sales meetings with clients, earning points just for the meetings. Those meetings turned into new revenue and new accounts. We surpassed the monthly goal for November and December combined. Lastly, our newest account executives Lexy and Nathan improved on sales. Lexy went over her personal goal by $1,910 and Nathan was only $50 away from reaching his goal. They were able to get a good grasp of the sales process while having fun at the same time.
