Key themes and topics to be addressed at the conference include: The dynamism of Central and Eastern Europe
The ongoing impact of technology
Thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent drawing back of the iron curtain, how have the new economies of Central and Eastern Europe evolved? The recent launches of Vogue Czechoslovakia and Vogue Poland, together with the huge influence of Eastern European streetwear, are testament to the region’s dynamic and growing consumer markets. Additionally, Central and Eastern Europe is proving to be a rich source of creativity on the global stage. What’s next for the region? Suzy Menkes and speakers will explore.
From blockchain to augmented reality, data to innovative materials to robotics, artificial intelligence to digital fashion, technology’s ongoing impact on fashion and luxury is undeniable. At the conference, experts from WIRED and Vogue Business, as well as disruptors and inventors will share their views on how technology continues to reshape design, manufacture, retail, and almost every aspect of the fashion and luxury business.
The sustainability challenge As the climate change emergency reaches a critical level, and with the fashion industry fully woken to sustainability, how can the need to reduce the environmental impact of fashion and luxury be reconciled with the demands of business? What is the role of industry and of the consumer? Can technology help mitigate fashion and luxury’s climate impact? Speakers will discuss and debate.
Inclusivity in fashion Diversity and inclusivity in luxury fashion is a key issue. While exclusivity may be one of the foundation pillars of luxury, brands and houses need to ensure they are communicating with a wider range of voices. Additionally, size inclusivity in luxury, often unaddressed, is now rising to the top of the agenda.
Navigating the consumer and business landscape The conference will explore how today’s luxury industry should operate in an uncertain, volatile and hyper-connected global environment, as well as plan for the medium- and long-term. Speakers will also discuss the dynamics of the ever-important Chinese luxury market.
