Andrew Madden After a successful 10-year career as an area manager for a national car rental company in Syracuse, NY, Andrew Madden knew it was time to unlock his inner entrepreneur. Along with his wife, Kelly, and their two infant sons, they relocated to South Carolina to be nearer to family, making it the perfect time to have a career that allowed him to be his own boss. Andrew attained his real estate license and 2012 and hit the ground running with Coldwell Banker United. Under the mentorship of Bob McTague, the agent and close friend who sold Andrew and Kelly their first home in New York, those early days consisted of cold calling sellers whose listings had expired, as well as for-sale-by-owner’s. By utilizing existing tools in the business while implementing technology and expert marketing, Andrew slowly started gaining listings, with two sales in Copyright Top Agent Magazine

the first four months. Andrew’s strategy really started gaining way as he sold 47 homes the next year. He was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2012. In 2013, he had $9.8 million dollars in sales volume, earning a spot in the International Presidents Circle.


Knowing that potential clients will thoroughly research an agent online before calling, Andrew was able to identify the importance of being unique to stand out in the crowd. He says, “People want to know who you are, so we built the backend of our business to stay ahead of the

curve.” Staying ahead of the curve means having a strong internet presence, beautifully photographing every property and making sure there is well-written, descriptive content for each listing. “We’re not selling anything—we’re marketing homes,” says Andrew, adding, “It’s Copyright Top Agent Magazine


one thing to be on dozens of websites, but just putting a home on a bunch of websites does not mean a home is marketed correctly. It takes quality pictures, great videos and descriptive content to attract buyers.”

states, “You don’t have to reinvent the wheel in real estate. You can be creative but in order to grow, you can’t stop prospecting. If you treat every day like it was your first day in this business, the sky is the limit.”

With business booming and the need for assistance, Andrew hired his first marketing assistant, Jamie Barron, at the end of 2013. In August of 2014, Kelly attained her real estate license and joined the team as well. Andrew

shelter. “We’re thankful for everything we have and we try to give back whenever we can,” says Andrew. Taking nothing for granted, Andrew values his clients and is grateful for the times they stop him out in public thanking him for the excellent customer service they’ve received. They repeatedly give glowing reviews mentioning his professionalism, integrity, ability to listen to their requests and show properties that meet all their needs, among many other

accolades. His greatest satisfaction is seeing the elation on their faces at the close of a transaction. Adhering to the philosophy that business and success will follow as long as you take care of your clients, it’s easy to see why Andrew and his team have been so successful in such a short amount of time.
