EMPLOYEE MANUAL

Section 6-3: Family and Medical Leave

THE FAMILY & MEDICAL LEAVE POLICY

The FMLA provides eligible employees up to 12 workweeks of unpaid leave for certain family and medical reasons during a 12-month period. The 12-month period is determined based on a 12-month period measured forward from the start date of the employee's first FMLA leave. Leave may be taken for anyone, or for a combination, of the following reasons:

To care for the employee's child after birth, or placement for adoption or foster care;

To care for the employee's spouse, son, daughter or parent (but not in-law) who has a serious health condition; For the employee's own serious health condition (including any period of incapacity due to pregnancy, prenatal medical care or childbirth) that makes the employee unable to perform one or more of the essential functions of the employee's job; and/or

Because of any qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that an employee's spouse, son, daughter or parent is a military member on covered active duty or called to covered active duty status (or has been notified of an impending call or order to covered active duty) in the Reserves component of the Armed Forces for deployment to a foreign country in support of contingency operation or Regular Armed Forces for deployment to a foreign country.

Alamogordo Public Library

Lovely library with a few cool creepy crawlies and amphibious friends on display. Loved the children’s program and their puppet theater area. Lots of great books and activities for all ages. This is a wonderful library. Wide variety

Alamogordo Family Recreation Center

It’s a nice place to chill and relax or practice your swimming

Alameda Park Zoo

Small but appropriately priced admission; even the gift shop was refreshingly reasonable compared to most zoo gift shops. Lots of picnic tables, half or so with good shade. Nice playground but was closed for renovation at time of my visit-really would make it like a pleasant walk in the park. Great zoo! It's one of our top spots to bring my daughter so she can look at animals and play at the park
