EDITOR-IN-CHIEF We did it! The first issue of the Journal Cafe was released last month and the response has been so wonderfully positive. BUSINESS & PLANNING GO HAND IN HAND
SPREADS CAN BE SO MUCH FUN Check out the fun spreads from this creative planner!
Memory Keeping is Her Thing Joakima Kyma Williams Click the pic to go to the video
I've been following this lovely lady's posts in the Facebook group Black Women Who Plan & Create. She's so wonderfully creative and inspiring. It's such a pleasure to see her young daughter who enjoys decorating her very own travelers notebook with pictures and paint. Yes, I said paint! Be sure to follow Joakima on YouTube at KiKy Kreates to see her latest videos on junk journals.
"It took me a while to figure out what type of memory keeping I wanted to do...but I think I've found what I'm going to stick with."

SHEYA CHISENGA
BUSINESS & PLANNING GO HAND IN HAND I have had the pleasure of knowing Sheya Chisenga as my business coach and friend for the last six years. Sheya is a speaker, author and creator of the Woman Christian CEO Life Coach School. She is also the owner of the co-working space It's My Time to Rise Business Institute. You can find her on Facebook or visit her website http://sheyachisenga.com/. This phenomenal woman is also a lover of planners and stickers! Here are a few things we talked about: Number of planners you have: Just 1...I had several before, but once I got
clear about what I really wanted, it was easy to select the best planner for me. It's called the Woman Christian CEO Goal Planner. It's undated with a monochromatic palette so that you can add whatever color you desire. The planner comes with a manifesto and commitment page in the front section, along with pages for your goals, year in review, monthly and weekly views as well as space for daily tasks and appointments. In case you're wondering who makes such a planner. She designed it! You can click the pictures on the next page to order your copy today. Journal Cafe | 7

Biggest benefits of using a planner for business: keeps me on track and focused it's a great tracking system eliminates idle time stops the tendency to be all over the place I have space to do a brain dump keeps my days focused on the strategic actions necessary for achieving my goals How planning helped you in your business: Having a tool like a planner helps you stay focused. Running a business takes discipline and a certain amount of consistent, targeted actions. I recommend a minimum of one to two hours of planning per week that specifies what you want to achieve and how you plan to do it.

Favorite thing about planning: Besides the stickers... The good thing about planning is that you can make it your own.
Click the pic to go to the website It's less than 30 days until the first PlannerCon Party takes place in New Brunswick, NJ. I can't wait to see these fabulous ladies again. If you're in New York, you don't want to miss this. It's a great opportunity to see what the PlannerCon community is like. I have to admit that the parties are my favorite. They are a bit more intimate with the size being between 100-200 people in attendance. The parties are truly like a party.
You'll get to meet Teresa Collins, Nicole Barlettano author of My Life in Lists, and Shaena Twitty of PaperHouse Productions. We will be able to participate in workshops led by these beauties, meet some of your favorite vendors, shop, plan and eat. This year we'll introduce a new aspect for the parties - a hat parade on Friday night! And yes, there will be prizes. So be sure to bring your hat.

For those of you attending as VIPs, you'll experience another new aspect for the parties and PlannerCon 2020 sponsored tables. VIP ticket holders will receive an email detailing the aspects around seat selection and table choice. Louise Umeki and her team will do their best (but cannot guarantee) to reserve your seat at one of the requested tables. Reserved seats & tables will be assigned in the order received. They will Journal Cafe | 10
also post and send the list of the sponsored tables in advance. To learn more about PlannerCon join the groups on Facebook. There is a main group (Official PlannerCon), a social group for sharing spreads, tips, tools, shops, etc. (PlannerCon Social) and a group for the parties (PlannerCon Parties) to give you all of the information you need to attend as well as learn about what others have experienced.
