Let me introduce you to this wonderful crafter and planner Amber Kelly. You can find her cute spreads, crafty covers, cute charms and other planner accessories on Instagram @thriftycraftyqueen and on her YouTube channel Amber Kelly.
She adhered the insides with kitchen counter adhesive from the Family Dollar store as well.
She is also a contributing member to many planner groups on Facebook where she regularly shares her creations and spreads. She recently showed us how she created matching covers for her half-sheet "happynichi" and mini using $1 placemats from the Family Dollar store.

Who knew you could use such simple, everyday kitchen items for planning!
Brandi Janei "Spread" the love I've become such a fan girl of so many planners and crafters this last few years. I'm truly amazed at all of the creativity I get to see and want to share it with the world. One of the folks I follow and get a kick out of her posts is Brandi Janei of the Etsy shop Mariposacreationco. Her shop is on a short break, but will return in August. She has some very cute stickers. Be sure to check her out on Instagram @butterfry_taco_plans.

Click the pic to go to the website In three weeks the second PlannerCon Party takes place in Atlanta, GA. I can't wait to see these amazing ladies again. I have said it before and I'll say it again, the parties are my favorite. They are a bit more intimate with the size being between 50-200 people in attendance. They really are more like a party. If you're in Atlanta, you don't want to miss this. It's a great opportunity to see what the PlannerCon community is like.
You'll get to meet Amy Tangerine, Teresa Collins, and me, Phillis Clements. There will be workshops, time to meet some of your favorite vendors, shop, plan and eat. This year we introduced a new aspect for the parties - a hat parade! We had so much fun in New Jersey with the parade. In case you're wondering, yes, there will be prizes. So be sure to bring your hat!

VIP ticket holders will receive an email detailing the aspects around table choice. Louise Umeki and her team will do their best (but cannot guarantee) to reserve your seat at one of the requested tables. Reserved seats & tables will be assigned in the order received. CECILE SOSA-WILLIAMSON New to Planning, But Not to Business This dynamic lady is a powerhouse crafter. Meet Cecile Sosa-Williamson. I first met her virtually on Facebook and then I had the pleasure of meeting Cecile in person at the recent PlannerCon Parties New Brunswick event in New Jersey. I first saw some of Cecile's creations in a crafters group. She creates the most amazing dolls, doll accessories, miniatures and more. Her shop Chynadoll Creations is on Etsy. You can follow her on Instagram @chynadoll67. Cecile has only been planning for a few months, but she's definitely got it down. From planners, dashboards, pens and stickers to everything in between.
Being new to planning didn't stop this talented lady from being a table sponsor at the PlannerCon event. It was easy to see why attendees were so impressed with her sponsored table. She made sure the VIPs at her table felt special. From dress pens and wrapped candy bars, to stickers, bags and more participants were not disappointed. It was awesome to have a local business owner join the community and be a part of the event. I'm looking forward to our continued friendship.

What do you love about planning? Everything! LOL I didn't know there was such a huge community of people out there who enjoyed having fun with things like planners, stickers, pens and so much more. I'm addicted now. Latest obsession: Stickers! I've learned to make them and now I can't stop. I've got so much to add to my shop. What you learned about PlannerCon: The spirit of love, friendship and connections there were priceless! I didn’t know what to expect walking into it on the first day, but by the end I left extremely happy!

CANDICE TURNER-HOOVER Lighting is Everything How many of you have felt like your spreads are not share-worthy? I for one have felt a little less inclined to share some of the spreads I've made. Little did I know a simple thing about how I take my pictures and a little adjustment with the lighting could make a big difference. That's how I found this amazing visual storyteller on Facebook. Candice TurnerHoover is a Godsend. She shared some great tips about lighting and how editing our pictures can make our spreads really pop. Be sure to follow her on Instagram @candis.planner.creations.

Editing takes her about 5 minutes. Daylight and professional lighting are great, but it's not always possible for us to use either one. Her first tip is 1) make sure the light is even (as in, no shadows) then 2) use an app called Pic, Tap, Go that allows you to apply filters to your pictures. The version she has is free. You can apply as many as 4 or 5 filters, depending on the way they look. You can start with Auto Color, then save that pic. If you're adventurous you can also do a +Contrast, save it again, apply Cool it Down or Lights On and check the results. If it's too bright, you can further edit and warm it up. Try these tips and let us know on the Journal Cafe page how your pics turned out.

JESSICA ADAMS Color Challenge
I love seeing new faces in the planner community. Meet Jessica Adams. She has the most colorful spreads. I first saw her on Instagram. You can follow her @thecreativeplans. Jessica is a Happy Planner. I learned that she is a makeup artist and mom of two. I like that she participates in fun
challenges like the #colorchallenge and the Tutti Frutti Challenge. Her spreads are always full of color and she includes glimpses of the sticker books she uses. It's clear that she has a knack for taking cute pictures of her spreads. It must be the artist in her. (smile) Be sure to support her!
