INDEPENDENT HUSTLERS PERSWAYZIV April Howard, better known as PerSwayZiv in the music world, was born in Mobile, Alabama. Growing up, she moved between Alabama and one of the toughest parts of San Antonio, Texas - Sunrise. Due to the constant violence in the area- it was nicknamed “Gunrise”. In cities like these, her options were very limited as far as succeeding legally and making her way out. To escape, she focused her energy on education and music. Despite moving almost every year, she used that adversity to her advantage lyrically. At a very young age, she developed a passion for language arts. In the same breath she was able to find her new passion- freestyle rap. PerSwayZiv admires and still does to this day artist who take on this genre of music. Artists such as Cassidy, Eightball and MJG, No Limit, Trina Mia X and Eve Fabolous- just to name a few were some heavy influences for her. She was especially influenced by lil Boosie. He gave her the assurance that being young, ambitious AND coming from the hood was not an obstacle, as long as you continue grinding to let the people hear your voice. She always stayed positive about her music, even if she was the only one to hear it. She couldn’t go out much in her neighborhood being a young female but when she did, she would tag along with her cousin and his crew to practice her skills. Her cousin, another one of her biggest influences, taught her about the fundamentals of the freestyle rap game. Where are you currently based? I reside in Charlotte, NC. What can listeners expect to hear from your music? When listeners play one of my songs they’re gonna hear something dope that they can relate to. Whether it’s about being in love, getting ready for the club, getting over heartbreak or how I feel about the rap game right now- it’s going to be about an experience of what I have been through or what I have been a witness to. Have you done or are you planning to do mixtapes in the future? No, I haven’t done a mixtape yet but- I am a huge fan of mixtapes because artists are able to show listeners who they really are. You may hear a mixtape from me before my official album is released. What is your opinion of the mixtape game and market? I think mixtapes are a great marketing strategy. You get the opportunity to learn about new artists. However, it’s like anyone and everyone can do it so much that it waters down the rap game. It becomes easy for artists who are serious about music to be grouped into the same category as people who aren’t passionate about it. Where do you think the music industry is headed as a whole? The music industry as a whole is evolving. Genres are mixing with other genres in order to give birth to new sounds and types of music. Doors are being opened and artists are getting chances to be more creative. Are there any other ventures you want to let our readers know about? Yes. I am a producer, I also write songs for other artists and I’m learning how to become an engineer. Anything else you’d like to add? Im always introducing new music on my social media sites and putting snippets up there so follow me for the latest updates. Where can we find you online? All digital music stores: Search PerSwayZiv What do you ultimately want to accomplish in the music industry? I ultimately want to carve a niche in the industry as an artist who is simply a great rapper. I don’t want to be labeled or categorized but I want to be known for putting out great music. I want successful album sales, I want to work with legends, I want to be someone’s inspiration. Years from now I want people to hear my music and still remember my lyrics and how it made them feel. What sets you apart from other artists? I try not to limit myself because you never know what you are gifted in until you try it at least once. So I personally like to challenge myself to write a song for every genre of music even if it comes off controversial and unsuccessful. Contact Name: Contact Email: Contact Phone:

INDEPENDENT HUSTLERS MALACHI Born and raised in Newport, Arkansas, where the drug dealer to citizen ratio is higher than anywhere else n the world n were proud of it.. I got a voice that needs to be heard because there is a positive message i gotta spread.. And these days I think with all the conflict and disagreement in the world I feel the one thing we could surely all agree with is we could use a positive message bout now.. I think I’m meant to deliver that message.. There is a lot of hate in the world nowadays and so much conflict so I encourage people to open their minds to new beliefs and just listen deeply to my lyrics for the deep underlying message.. Which part of is to not analyze so much.. haha.. IRONY... you have to analyze to find out it is not a good thing all the time to analyze because it is basically an assumption which is a judgement of something.. DEEP SHIT I know but I am very insightful.. Malachi “Raw” Malachi is a very poetic influential and inspirational artist in the hip-hop/rap genre of moderate, conventional music.. He goes by many names such as DJ Juice Hartsell, Juice, Big Juicy, Malachi, Malachi Raw, and Malachi McNamara.. A very talented positive rapper.. This is a page for the few people that like DJ Juice Hartsell’s rap and the people that don’t know him.. And these days I think with all the conflict and disagreement in the world I feel the one thing we could surely all agree with is we could use a positive message bout now.. JuiceThaTruth Records Pound 4 Pound Productions White Crime Entertainment Dirty Shu Incorporated #JuiceThaTruthRecords #Pound4PoundProductions #WhiteCrimeEnt #DirtyShuInc #MalachiRaw How did you first become a recording artist? When I was 16, I met these dudes that went by Big C a.k.a. 4:20, and Lt. Stumpabitch, and they were freestylin over some instrumentals down in the trailer park and I thought to myself and said aloud, man I can do way better than this.. So I started recording freestyles on a realistic tape recorder and shortly after wrote my first song to “The End” instrumental on Three Six Mafia’s second album “The End.” I, from there, upgraded to a computer with the sound recorder.. like windows xp software.. it was horrible quality.. excellent lyrics.. then to home computer studio then to smartphone app then to my current setup... So to answer your question, Ive been a recording artist since I was 16. I’m independent.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT DARKSIDE Darkside (born Kevin Anderson) was raised in the streets of Baltimore City. Born amongst four other siblings, Darkside developed a love for music at the age of 2. Being of Jamaican decent, music was in his blood. “Ever since he could walk and talk, you would see him hanging around his father a lot”, said his mother. “He would watch him spin records on his 12 technique turntables. From that moment, we knew music was his road to success”. Darkside’s father was a “disc jockey”. At the age of 8, his father began to teach him the basics. With the seed planted, Darkside wanted to become one of the youngest DJ’s to ever set foot in Baltimore City. By 10 years of age, he knew how to turn on his father’s entire music system from beginning to end in sequence. “I remember the summer of ’96”, Darkside said. My dad and I rode to Home Depot to purchase plywood, wood glue, nails, and a bunch of other things. “To my surprise, it was so I could spend my entire summer break making speaker cases”. Darkside began to master his own craft watching older and more experienced DJ’s in the city. This positioned him to DJ local house parties, and build his name as a DJ. With hip hop being the popular genre for music that he played for party goers piqued his interest. By the age of 15, he began to develop the art of rhyming.

God has obviously blessed me with this talent so I just want to be heard. I want to share this gift with the world. I don’t necessarily want or need the fame, I rather get money so that I can provide for my son the way my parent didn’t do for me but I know fame comes with what I’m chasing so I wouldn’t mind that either. GOLD

2016 RECAP This year Fool’s Gold Day Off, the record label’s annual destination festival, relocated north from Miami to Fort Lauderdale after concerns over the Zika virus prevented them from holding the show at Mana Wynwood. Luckily, Revolution Live, Fort Lauderdale’s staple concert venue, was able to step in at the last minute and host the daylong music festival. This year’s show included an all-star lineup as well as some special surprise performances. The show started off with the DJs. Damaged Goods provided the soundtrack to get the crowd going as the day began. Other sets were provided by Bosco & Speakerfoxx as well as Nick Catchdubs and Ape Drums. As daylight began to fade, the first performers took the stage. Kirk Knight, a Pro Era affiliate, was the first to come out and he did not disappoint. The energy was at an all time high at this point and only built as each new performer proceeded the previous one. Both A-Trak and Hudson Mohawke shared some epic

music while rocking out during the respective DJ sets. Though one scheduled performer, Lil Yachty, was mysteriously absent from the show, Fool’s Gold didn’t let fans down and treated them to performances by a few special guest. Along with up and coming artist Playboi Carti, the festival saw surprise performances by MadeInTYO, Orlando newcomer Kaiydo, and Hip-Hop veterans N.O.R.E. and Mystikal, who treated fans to some of their classic records. The night closed out with the Pro Era general, Joey Bada$$ taking the stage. Joined by DJ Statik Selektah on the 1’s & 2’s, Joey made sure that the concert goers left feeling they got their money’s worth and more, performing some fan favorites and his more well known records. Overall, despite the last minute relocating and artist cancellations, Fool’s Gold carried on strong and gave their fans one hell of a day off. We’re looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us next year!
