Cultural Connections Local communities guide how we include Indigenous culture and knowledge at Coast Mountain College. Our classes support First Peoples’ principles of learning and recognize relationships between traditional cultures of our region and success of our students, both domestic and international. We continue to develop programs connected to cultural, social, political and economic values; connected to realities of Indigenous communities we serve. CMTN supports cross-cultural understanding, Indigenization of teaching and learning, and improved access to education for Indigenous students. It is important that students recognize and respect all First Nations land and people in each of the communities Coast Mountain College serves, in person and online. First Nations culture plays a large role in campus, classroom and Canadian society. coastmountaincollege.ca/indigenous-resources

COVID-19 response and safety CMTN remains committed to the needs and safety of our community. We continue to work and learn at a distance, with in-person activities restricted to those deemed essential until Spring 2021. All campuses remain closed to public, access restricted to approved staff and students as well as prospective students, clients, and contractors*. To review the all COVID-19 related updates and safety protocols visit the Operational planning page of our website. Canada responded quickly to the virus by implementing physical distancing, masks or face coverings in public, no social gatherings and by recommending people to stay at home to curb the spread of the virus. Canada is rated the twelfth in the world for how well the country has responded to the pandemic**. Travel to Canada is prohibited unless deemed essential for any foreign national. Quarantine plans are in effect for those who are permitted entry into Canada. Coast Mountain College acknowledges the resiliency and dedication of our students in these evolving times. Students are at the heart of our organization and we are proud to continue offering dynamic, accessible learning opportunities to support student success. •
