Strengthen micro and small agricultural and tourist enterprises. Create a network of initiatives and circuits of tourist value. Guide the growth of Auletta, urbanizing areas other than agricultural. Associate public and private initiatives. Promote the countless natural and cultural resources of the region. A port of important commercial activity as economic shutter of the area, and its harmonious relationship with tourist activities of the place. Create a consciousness about natural disasters and a capability of make a resilient city.
In terms of cultural heritage sites that testify to a past and present full of attractive are dozens and, for them, the model of the eco‐museums could be adopted to enhance these resources, the ruins park, churches, villages, and places and some other interesting and dispersed sites that saved countless testimonies of their traditions as network. This structure of valorization of the vast territory in question, leads to processes of social organization (networks, alliances) to mobilize the participation of all participating stakeholders concerned, transforming them into true authors of a great project for tourism and biodiversity at regional level. Thus, facilitates the mobilization of entities and local associations, scientific of the entire region, the participation of local governments, and organizations, which is not, international cooperation. The PHI Plan for Auletta is in synthesis an eco‐network, open to its evolution and permanent recreation, with accompanying tourist services, generating a great opportunity of cultural tourism as a whole. Joint initiatives with incubators for small, medium and large enterprises for the region, socio‐environmental sustainability and training of actors (entrepreneurs, technicians, staff and general population) to transform them into perpetrators of multiple sustainable ventures are part of the plan.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE PLAN To promote the multifunctionality of the territory at the regional level and as a stage of experimentation of the sustainable development The proposed project defines an "interface" area and buffer: urban park with recreational, cultural and educational purposes, between the city and the reserve, forming an area of socio‐economic opportunities and retraining of the entire new urban front in the city of Auletta a new and controlled land use plan and a management program, to ensure the fulfillment of the objectives set. Investigate the priority aspects that can help recognize, preserve, promote and monitor the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage, of productive practices and appropriate technologies, of culture and education, of associative forms and management, in order to enable a sustainable development of this cultural landscape so unique as a symbol of uniqueness in its genre In support of these objectives : Build a system of information and environmental assessment for sustainable development and management of the cultural landscape of the region, such as support for the assessment of the State and evolution of the system (the development of the territory), decision‐making and its proper handling

SPECIFIC LINES OF ACTION SL 1 ‐ CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE This means the appreciation of cultural heritage, tangible and intangible, very related to natural environment, promoting the values and the uniqueness of the region, along with the essential elements of the cultural landscape, architecture, roads, monuments, train infrastructure, bridges, and any other constructed reference of centuries of historical production. Intangible cultural heritage must be preserved, shown and exploded. Rites, music, legends, traditions, handcraft, cooking, as a part of to production system based on tourism economy. Action lines: • • • •
Coordination on tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the construction to integrated cultural landscape. Tourism industry based on a sustainable cultural and historical heritage. In media and internet promotion of a cultural and historical potential. Include the dimension of tourism as an opportunity for the more sustainable development, from the value of this cultural landscape and its historical evolution, recognizing the positive and negative impacts that may result in the carrying capacity of the ecosystems involved, and obtaining performance and regulatory criteria geared towards sustainability (criteria taking even more value when they can be applicable to other similar regions).
SL 2 – NATURAL DISASTER EDUCATION FOR PREVENTION After 1985 earthquakes in Mexico City, here we developed official programs in schools, federal and office buildings and for all the people in general in order to prevent a new tragedy. Now, all the people know how to deal with an earthquake, hurricane or any natural disaster. Since basic school children do simulations several times a year. We have alarms, evacuation routes from the single buildings to complete regions by highways, educational programs for government employees, housewives, and even in kindergartens. We recommend something like that for Auletta. SL 3 ‐ REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION This implies go depth in new strategies for the sustainable production; recovering successful production technologies used in the past, develop new technologies with less impact over the nature, preservation of biodiversity and natural good resources management.
Very important: in order to preserve the cultural landscape, all production systems (agricultural, farming, agro‐breeding lands) must be thought as a substantial part of Auletta´s daily life. Action lines: • • •

To weigh up constantly effects and consequences of human presence and activities over the biodiversity and natural resources in the region. Take actions. To find the best practices for the agricultural, farming and tourist industry.
SL 4‐ MANAGEMENT AND ASSOCIATION WAYS Based on looking for new management and association ways for integrated regional development, that can go beyond and over fragmentations and sectoriality. We can identify 4 main actions: •

Looking for new association ways in order to develop ideas and projects with a majority of partnership regulated by the civil code; non‐profit entity and non‐profit making organization. To find or develop a specific methodology to measure goals, and current financing structures should be established, improved or complemented which make possible the necessary investments to provide an adequate infrastructure to reach goals. To check and adequate law, codes and regulations in order to reach goals. To promote and articulate the participation of civil associations.
SL 5‐ TERRITORIAL PLANNING AND LAND USE AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT Land use planning was the main objective in order to correct a possible accelerated real estate speculation and the lack of urban planning rules and control of constructions which violated against the landscape and its natural values, as well as a road structure highly deficient (that’s what we noticed in the photos). We are setting an exterior green belt around the city called “Green path”. This road could be a pedestrian line shared with bike road with trees around them. The city would be inside the belt and served as a physical limit. SL 6‐ CONTEMPORY ART AS URBAN DETONANT This proposal is about to make a route of contemporary urban sculptures all along the ways that reach Auletta. This is a way to produce in the visitors an unforgettable feeling during the moment they are arriving to the city. Sculptures will become aesthetic landmarks that should give a nice welcome to the visitors and for the residents this is a way to remember that if we lose beauty in
our cities we can lose our capacity of idealization and respect for human dignity, and even a loss of hope.
Transversal lines of Action TL‐1 Education for sustainability Education for sustainability is the continuous refinement of knowledge and skills that result in an informed citizenry committed to take individual and collective measures to achieve environmentally sound, economically prosperous and equitable ‐ society for the current generation and future generations. The fundamental principles of education for sustainability include, without limitation, complete essential courses, understanding of the relationship between the disciplines, systematic thinking, and continuous lifelong learning from practical experience, learning based on the community, technology, partnerships, family participation and personal responsibility. And therefore, it should be a process of responsible participation, empowerment and responsibility citizens in the improvement of the quality of life. This line is expected as a result that generate didactic and pedagogical strategies advancing towards the construction and consolidation of a "education for sustainability", it involves and engages both local populations and all those who come to participate in the care of a unique heritage and identity. TL‐2 Land Management as a cultural landscape In addition to their identity and own goals, gives geo‐referenced cartographic support feeds regard to information (through a common and compatible database) to the 6 specific lines of action mentioned above. This is, in short, the action that address the analysis and management of the territory as a cultural landscape, from, among other tools, the construction of the information system and environmental assessment to support and nourished this analysis, and also other lines of research, particularly those that require localized physical territorial, socio‐economic data or inventory of heritage resources, and allowing itself to assess the status of the territory, the morphological dynamics of landscape, analyze and investigate new forms of reading the landscape (new readings of the landscape), allowing whole outline territorial feature of the cultural landscape to maintain and promote.
