POWERING GOOD IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD To us, bringing you power means more than keeping the lights on. It’s inspiring the next generation, serving our neighbors in need, giving our time and resources, and caring for our environment.

THE POWER OF WE Cobb EMC is dedicated to being a good corporate citizen. Did you know that we team up with our members to strengthen our community? Through the Cobb EMC Foundation, we work together to support vital non-profits right here in our neighborhood. What is the Cobb EMC Foundation? The Cobb EMC Foundation is a third-party foundation separate from Cobb EMC that benefits nonprofits and members in our service area. Cobb EMC members round their bills up each month through Operation Round Up and all funds go to the Cobb EMC Foundation. Where do the funds go? Each month, the Cobb EMC Foundation board of directors administer Operation Round Up funds to local non-profits who serve our members. Volunteer members, like you, serve on the board.

$41,000 TO LOCAL EDUCATORS, FOSTERING STEM LEARNING Cobb EMC recently awarded more than $41,000 in mini-grants to 87 elementary, middle, and high school teachers across the electric cooperative’s five-county service area. These minigrants will fund a variety of experiential and active learning projects including career prep, STEM, community gardens, art, music expansions, and more. “Cobb EMC continues to support our community and our educators so local area students can thrive,” says Mark Justice, Director of Education and Community Relations at Cobb EMC. “Thanks to minigrants, our teachers are able to bring their dream classroom projects to life, which piques students’ curiosity and creativity.” The recipients applied for the mini-grants by outlining their specific projects and how each would benefit students. Mini-grants are one of the many ways Cobb EMC gives back to local communities. Other initiatives include career days, student mentoring, and scholarships.
