WORST STORM IN 20 YEARS HITS NORTH GEORGIA Benji, North Georgia’s worst winter storm in more than 20 years, left tens of thousands of Cobb EMC members without power in early December. Our crews battled widespread damage in freezing temperatures to restore power as the storm dropped almost a foot of snow in some areas. Thank you for all of your patience and support during the storm. We also want to thank the many crews who traveled from across Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee to work around the clock to help us restore our members.
COBB EMC MEMBERS SAVED $3.2 MILLION
ON DECEMBER ELECTRIC BILLS
Cobb EMC members saved $3.2 million on their December bills through a Wholesale Power Adjustment (WPA) credit. Cobb EMC increases or decreases the WPA as necessary to follow changes in wholesale electric generation and transmission costs. “This credit offers greater savings to our cooperative members, which is particularly important during the holiday season,” said Chip Nelson, President and CEO of Cobb EMC. “The average household, which uses 1,000 kWh each month, saved $15 on their bill.”
