APRIL The news you need this month
WE APPRECIATE OUR LINEMEN! #ThankALineman for making our communities bright.
You see them working in the blistering summer heat and in harsh, cold conditions. They’re dispatched during the worst thunder and ice storms. Despite the weather, hundreds of millions of people rely on them to keep the lights on. Some call them linemen. To us, they’re heroes. Georgia’s electric cooperatives, including Cobb EMC, recognize April as Lineman Appreciation Month. Throughout the month, we partner with utility companies across the state to honor the men and women who sacrifice their lives to keep our lights on and protect the public’s safety.

Local nonprofit organizations have benefited, including those in the areas of education, arts, music, social services and health, to name a few. To see a full list of recipients, visit www.cobbemc.com/foundation. SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center is a recent Cobb EMC Community Foundation recipient. Their mission is to reduce the trauma to children and their families by offering a comprehensive, professional and child-friendly approach to allegations of child abuse.
