READY, SET, PREP FOR STORM SEASON
At Cobb EMC, we strive to provide our members with reliable power year-round. Storm season creates more weather-related outages that can impact our member service area. Despite our best efforts, major storms can cause damage to power lines. When this happens, our first priority is to safely restore power as quickly and as safely as possible. Make sure you’re ready for storm season by preparing ahead of a significant event. Use these tips to prepare for possible outages:
Stay informed using our outage alert notification system - to sign up text REGISTER to 898-362 (TXTEMC).
Report an outage and check the status using our Outage and Storm Center featuring a live outage map
Monitor the weather and know the difference between a severe weather warning vs watch. Have shelter-in-place plans ready.
Have a backup plan for those in the house who depend on medical equipment that requires electricity.
Build an emergency kit with a flashlight, water and nonperishable goods in case you are without power for any period.
