Manufacture, Installation, Maintenance Railway network operators and radio suppliers will appreciate all the 2201R GSM-R mobile tester offers for the testing of railway communication systems - a product designed for the validation of GSM-R radios. Easy to use The 2201R’s multi-language user interface enables users to perform tests
quickly and with the minimum of intervention. For field use, the battery is conveniently located on the rear panel so can be unclipped for fast replacement. Fast and accurate The 2201R may be connected directly to GSM-R device types, including high-powered Class 2 radios, and provides fast and accurate RF measurements with a full range of features including voice, data and SMS testing.
Preset limits with graphical results provide an immediate indication of all test results. Light and portable With a handle on each corner, the 2201R’s compact form-factor, light-weight (just 6.2 kg with battery) and battery operation with up to two-and-a-half hour life is ideal for testing radios in the confined space of the locomotive cab.

Features
Key features The 2201R features the simulation of group calls (VGCS) at various priority levels. This includes Railway Emergency Calls (REC) based on group calls to verify not only the performance of the cab radio, but also of the key peripherals such as optical and acoustic alarms.
It also allows voice group calls to and from the mobile to validate bi-directional communication. For mobile originated calls, the 2201R decodes the group ID and priority level while performing measurements. The Short Message Service (SMS) function takes testing further by retrieving all the parameters used by the phone for
transferring messages – particularly useful for a technician analysing faulty behaviour. Add support for standard Point-ToPoint (PTP) calls, Push-To-Talk and functional addressing (Follow-Me) and processing of User-To-User messages and it is clear to see how the 2201R provides a comprehensive GSM-R test and validation instrument.
