Peacock Chic Boutique Meet the ladies behind Hamilton’s hottest vintage clothing shop. CC: Who are the people behind the boutique? PCB: Marija Durlov Co-Owner, Afrodita Durlov Co-Owner, Thea Acierno The Intern.

CC: Tell us a little bit about the boutique

Coco 033

MD: We’ve had Peacock Chic for over a year now. We are located in the lovely Westdale community of Hamilton, ON, Canada. Our boutique features a mix of vintage and gently used consignment clothing. We also carry shoes, jewelry, accessories, and a small selection of menswear.

CC: What inspired you to open the boutique? MD: We have always been lovers of fashion, whether it be current or vintage, and have always wanted to own our own boutique. The whole movement towards “Personal Style” was always a big factor. We wanted people to be able to have a place to go where they would be able to find something that fit their own personal style. We wanted to be able to share all the things we love with others and the boutique was the perfect outlet.

“We have always been lovers of fashion”

CC: What is the most interesting thing about owning/working in a boutique? TA: For me, I really love seeing what our costumers bring in to us, hat’s always really Exciting! MD: We have had a lot of great opportunities come to us through our business. We’ve recently done wardrobe for a few commercials and a music video, and we love participating in the street festivals in our community. CC: Can you give us some fashion tricks and tips for fall /winter? TA: Wear coats that are different hues! Have fun with it and try something out there like teal, forest green or fuchsia. AD: Accessorize your outerwear with a hat from or inspired by the 20’s or 40’s, add vintage leather gloves and a beautiful scarf. MD: A vintage brooch is the perfect way to accessorize your winter coat or hat. Also, everyone should invest in a really beautiful watch. It’s an absolute must.

CC: What are your near future and future goals for the boutique? AD: I would like to look into possibly expanding Peacock Chic into a whole home store. Eventually offering a total lifestyle. MD: We are really looking forward to having the opportunity to do more photography and and film work. We love clothing and we love vintage , so being able to share that with others through a range of media is very exciting.
