2023 has proven to be a challenging year for buyers but, by and large, a very good year for sellers.

Much has been written about the real estate market nationwide and the general takeaway is that we have a slightly “frozen” market. This largely refers to the dynamic of a subset of owners who would have typically made moves to downsize or upsize, and are reluctant to give up their mortgage rate in the mid 2% to low 3% range in order to do this. This has kept inventory off of the market that would have otherwise been available.

We believe that with the debt ceiling issue resolved, and interest rates hopefully stabilizing, more homes will be made available to the buying public. And we are actually seeing a wider selection of these homes now as showcased in this magazine.

We are advising our clients who are contemplating a move to take advantage of this relative dearth of inventory and not procrastinate too long before selling.
