Carrifran - a year from above revised edition

Carrifran - a year from above* Starting in February 2021, I visited Carrifran at least once a month to record change in the valley through a sequence of photographs taken with a drone. It took a few visits to settle on an ideal and consistent point, which was by a lone tree standing just south of the boardwalk that leads from the car park towards the viewpoint at the stell (see left). On each visit, I would walk to the tree, set up the drone, ascend to a height of 100m, and take my photograph. I tried to judge the timing of the visits so that the sunlight - when it was present - was shining on both sides of the valley. On April 5th I climbed Bodesbeck Law, on the south side of the A708. This more distant viewpoint gives a quite different perspective, increasing the perceived dominance of Raven Craig (page opposite). * This revised edition includes a shot from January 2022, completing the twelve month cycle. The new cover image is also from January 2022.
