Health and Wellness

Healthcare

The Wellness Center provides comprehensive healthcare under the direction of a registered nurse to ensure all students’ health concerns are met. Many services are offered, including confirmation of required immunization status for incoming students, treatment of immediate health issues, referrals to medical care providers in the community when necessary, first aid/CPR classes, and dietary counseling. Physicians are on site Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer hours run on a reduced schedule. Routine immunizations are offered at the Wellness Center. Flu shots are available in mid-October. Dental services are available off campus.

Student Health Insurance

All students are required to have health insurance coverage and are automatically enrolled in the University student health insurance plan. Insurance premiums are charged to student accounts. Students with comparable coverage must complete the online waiver form to remove the premium charge from their account. You and your student are urged to carefully review the options and examine personal medical insurance plans before waiving the University plan. For more information, see the Student Health Insurance Policy at uhcsr.com. Medical visits are billed to insurance companies, but there are no copays or out-of-pocket expenses for students.

To complete the waiver, please log in to ERNIE and follow this path: Campus Solutions>Main Menu>Self Service>Student Center>Complete Health Insurance Info.
