The Netherlands takes on the glass blowing artisan. Yale School of Architcture Critic: Brennan Buck - Fall 2023 A spiritual program derailed by the glass blowing artisan allowed a celebration of materiality, the execution of color, and viewership in a sort of building corpse, or BLDG; a building that is simultaneously not. Based on artwork inspired by the geometric style of Wassily Kandinsky, the BLDG starts to take form by breaking the pattern into parts of a single puzzle. Set in Rotterdam, Netherlands the site overtakes the Kunthstal in winter. A glass blowing studio and exhibition space that produces two grains of space, one for the artisan, and the other for the spectator.
