We’re learning and growing each day in the digital space and consider the summer a huge success with 558 students attending the 21 online classes we offered. Such a success, in fact, that we’re expanding on our class offerings for the fall and winter!

Thanksgiving Holiday Break Saturday, Nov. 21–Sunday, Nov. 29

Developing partnerships throughout the community continues to be a focus as well with plans in the works for an exciting series of pop-up visual and performing arts experiences.

ADULT COURSES WRITING

Virtual: Writing Your Artist Statement

SCULPTURE

Virtual: Día de los Muertos Calavera Vignettes

Instructor: Nancy Lovendahl

Instructor: Jerry Vigil

Level: 3-4

Level 0

Artists are trained to make objects and are then expected to successfully use words to articulate their process. This is a tall order, because many of us don’t think through words, have never learned to write narratives of our observations, or don’t really know personally what we’re making in the first place! This course is for students and artists wishing to discover what they are actually accomplishing in their studios and write simply and clearly to share those insights with others. The sessions will act like a gradual layering process of discovery and share group feedback. This process will also help us understand “IF” …which is the BIG “IF”… we are accomplishing our desired goals. “This is the most difficult workshop I’ve ever taken and has given me the self-respect I never knew I needed” – Former Student.
