The Friends of the Colorado Music Festival & Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts are pleased to present your Passport to: The 2013 Festival of Dinners Revel in “Big Music … Boulder Style” at the 37th season of the Colorado Music Festival at Chautauqua, where worldclass musicians come to play. And just as our summer concert season offers something for everyone, so does this year’s Festival of Dinners. All proceeds benefit the Colorado Music Festival & Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts. Working with local chefs and businesses, hosts have planned dinners and other special events. Whatever your passion, you can find it at the Festival of Dinners – gourmet cuisine, fine wines, music, fashion, and much more. On opening night, we’re again sponsoring the popular Picnic in the Park, in the pavilion just behind the concert hall. The Chautauqua Dining Hall, under new management, is doing the catering, a glass of wine or beer is included in the price, and you can purchase a ticket to the concert in the B section of the auditorium for just $15! This Passport is your ticket to a whirlwind of summer adventure! Space is limited, so please plan your itinerary and make your reservations early. Three Ways to Make Reservations 1. Make your reservations for events on our website at www.comusic.org. Click on Festival of Dinners in the upper right corner. Or, select Concerts & Events, and then Festival of Dinners. 2. Call the CMF Office at 303-449-1397 and make reservations by using a credit card. 3. Visit the CMF Summer Office in Cottage 200, directly north of the Community House and use either a credit card or personal check. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We do not accept reservations made by mail or via e-mail. Payment must be made at the time the reservation is made and is non-refundable. Events close for reservations three days prior to the date of the event. We urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible, since each event has a limited capacity. You will receive any special instructions or maps that are associated with your event. Festival of Dinners event availability updates are posted on our website. Members of the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra brass and winds sections will provide music. Reservations are required. Experience the locally-inspired cuisine of the recently reopened Chautauqua Dining Hall under the new leadership of Chef Chris Pierce. Take part in a century-old tradition of al fresco dining at Chautauqua in the picnic pavilion. Enjoy a seasonal “Colorado Bistro” menu featuring fresh produce from Three Leaf Farm, highlighting a sampler of items from the new Dining Hall menu. A glass of wine or beer is included. For just an additional $15, you can purchase a concert ticket for the best available seat in the B section of the Chautauqua auditorium.

Maestro Michael Christie leads the Colorado Music Festival in its 37th concert season with programming that continues to inspire audiences through especially diverse and entertaining programs.   

Oz with Orchestra – Judy Garland’s original 1939 studio recordings, backed by lush, live orchestration. Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto, “Emperor” and Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.” Russian Masters Mini Festival – All four Rachmaninov Piano Concertos and “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade,” Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique,” Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, and Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf.” Rediscovered Masters – featuring Jewish film composers, the U.S. premiere of Weinberg’s Symphony No. 3, and Bloch’s “Sacred Service.” Time for Three presents “Shuffle Mode” with the CMF Orchestra. A 75th birthday celebration of John Corigliano with his Pied Piper Fantasy, featuring flutist Alexa Still. CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS AT E-TOWN HALL This year, the Chamber Music Series will feature three concerts in the performance space at E-Town Hall, 1535 Spruce Street, in the heart of downtown Boulder. The CMF Chamber Players play Arnold Bax’s Quintet for Strings and Harp, Saint-Saens’ Fantaisie for Violin and Harp, and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 10 “Harp” on July 2nd.  A tribute to Tchaikovsky features violinist Lara St. John, playing Rachmaninoff’s Trio Élégiaque No. 2 (movements 2 and 3) and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence on July 16th.  A 200th Verdi and Wagner Birthday Celebration features Glass’s String Quartet No. 3, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, and Verdi’s Quartet in E Minor on July 30th. 
