President's Message
It's Award Season! Congratulations!
Awards season is often thought of as March and April; you know, that time of year for the Critics’ Choice, SAG, Oscars, etc... which showcases and honor their talents. For the Colorado PGA, award season is August when we announce the “best of the best” of Colorado PGA Professionals. You have heard it from our Officers, Board and CEO, as well as members and leaders of other sections, for years that the Colorado Section is best in the USA. We know it is thanks to our extraordinary membership. This may be best shown in the diversity of this year’s award winners which stem all around the Section from the Springs to Ft. Collins to Vail and Steamboat. In addition, our CPGA Member’s talents come from every type of golf operation - public, private, military and resort facilities. I was fortunate to co-chair the awards committee for two years – keep in mind that this committee is made up of past winners so serving on it meant you had done great things yourself. The committee members fully understand what it takes to separate themselves from the crowd and recognize talent and effort. Like me, each of them has no choice to be humbled reading through the applications from our amazing professionals. This is neither an easy nor small task as each candidate is deserving in their own right. From dozens of applications, this group is asked to narrow down to one single outstanding Colorado PGA Professional in each category. I thank the committee and chairs for their challenging and difficult work. If you were nominated for an award, I congratulate you as someone in the CPGA recognizes what you bring to the table. I encourage you to maintain the vision, the effort, keep striving to improve because that is who you are, and we thank you for continuing to make magic happen at your facility. The cream rises to the top and we may see your name on an award or two in the near future. For the award winners in 2021, my sincere congratulations and we all look forward to celebrating with you in late October at Colorado Golf Club. I could not be more honored as the President when making the phone call to each of the winners saying, “Congratulations, you are the Colorado PGA Section Award winner!” I hope my 2022 phone call is to you – it would be my honor. Sincerely,
Jim Hajek, PGA President Colorado PGA Head Professional Fossil Trace Golf Club jhajek@cityofgolden.net P (303) 277-8752 C (303) 746-7416
