Senior’s Luncheon
A Senior’s Luncheon was held at The Chinese Community Centre on Sunday 5th October 2014. Every year at the beginning of Spring, the Senior citizens of the Chinese Community are honoured. There were 109 people who attended but not all were senior citizens as you have to be 65 years and over. The event was orgainsed by the Chinese Christain Fellowship and hosted by Western Province Chinese Association. A big thank you to all the helpers and especially to the kitchen staff of TaiPing Restaurant. The Photograph above can be download from: https://www.flickr.com/photos/107958653@N02/15273134170/
Joyce Ming Celebrates her 80th Birthday
Fook Foo Ming invited friends to celebrate his wife Joyce’s 80th birthday at a lunch given at Sea Palace on the 21st September 2014. Joyce’s birthday is the 20th September and this is the most common birthday in the community with 5 of our members celebrating on that day. Dick who is Joyce’s brother, surprised her by travelling from Canada to attend her party. Everyone enjoyed the lunch and admired the birthday cake made my Lindy Chong. It was decorated with beautifully made peaches, peonies and the character, Shou, for long life.
