TSO•TSI I ‘tsotsi noun
Tsotsi has a murky history as a term for a gangster. Some say it’s a corruption of the word “zootsuit” because gangsters in the 50s were notorious for their narrow-legged and colorful suits. Others claim that it comes from this Sotho term “go tsotsa” which means “to rob”

This exclamation may have had its origin in the Khoi exclamation, tsi!
MEAL•IE I ‘mélé’ noun
This word comes form the Afrikaans “mielie” which in turn comes from the Portuguese “milho” which in turn comes from the Laitin “millium”
GUAR•DJIE I ‘gaarchee noun
