Is The Heartbeat of Fairfield County Real Estate Serving the Monroe/Trumbull Area Marketplace: After 25 years in real estate, I must admit these are very different, but exciting times, especially for buyers. There are a multitude of opportunities for purchase and depending on your situation, short sales can be trying but very gratifying. Rates are lower than when my mother bought her home (and that is a long time ago!) and selection is as good as I can ever remember. You do need to be on top of things with a full time realtor, though, as the real values go very, very quickly and can have multiple offers. A good realtor can tell you how to have an edge in that situation.

Serving the Ridgefield Area Marketplace: There has historically never been a better time to buy. Prices are down about 20% on average from the high, and interest rates are extremely attractive. It almost never happens simultaneously that prices and rates are down, so there is a unique favorable buying opportunity. Over the past 5 years, housing demand diminished and supply increased causing downward pressure on price. I am happy to report that housing inventory has been steadily coming down since last Spring and demand is slowly increasing, which bodes well for housing prices to start recovering. As concern grows about interest rates rising, I think even more buyers will try to accelerate purchasing.
