ABOUT US
T
he Colosoul Group Inc. was founded by CEO Tricia Ray in 2005 as a response to what she saw as a growing need for young people to have hands on participation within the media and arts industry, and as a vehicle to run mentorship programs. Colosoul has grown to become an exciting team of over 100 young volunteers involved continuously throughout each year, and has supported thousands of youth over the past 10 years. Strategies and goals of the organisation are shaped around benefiting human and environmental well-being and profits are reinvested back into the development of our mentorship programs and the community. The purpose of Colosoul is to give young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to express their talent, explore and polish their skills in a CREATIVE, POSITIVE, FUN, yet PROFESSIONAL learning environment. We promote awareness amongst young people about mental health, drug and alcohol abuse and other relevant issues affecting the youth of today. We aim to lead a shift towards a more positive Australian landscape expressing the voice of our young people. We provide a window of opportunity to disadvantaged young people and work towards providing a platform for young people from different backgrounds and ethnicities through our Mentorship Programs.
About Club 70 Club 70 is especially designed to encourage 70 businesses to come on board helping support Colosoul Group Inc. at a very affordable cost. We have three sponsorship packages available depending on how much you would like to donate on a monthly basis. It may mean four less coffees a week, however the cost of your four coffees a week will mean a great deal to the Colosoul Group Inc. 70 businesses committed together each year will allow Colosoul Group Inc. to be sustainable, enabling our mentorship programs to be more effective. Thank you for taking the time to care.

I didn’t realise at the time that not only would I been given the opportunity to work on an array of design projects, but I would end up leading a team, managing projects and liasing with clients. Being able to improve your creative skills as well as your leadership and business skills within a supportive and empowering environment, and having your voice valued and accounted for is what I think makes Colosoul unique. I am grateful for all the opportunities that Colosoul has given me and know I will apply all the transferable skills I have learned through Colosoul into my professional career. 1 Graduate Opportunities.com. OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS
L.I.C.K ( Learn, Innovate, Colosoul, Kickstart) is especially designed for those 18-25 year olds who are looking at studies, currently studying, or who have graduated. The program is designed to give the mentee as much practical hands-on experience in their chosen field to greatly increase their skills, and therefore, their chances of future employment.
G.A.P (Got Absolute Potential) allows schoolaged youth to engage with young professionals by exploring their creative passion within a safe, constructive and compassionate environment. This helps them to find their sense of belonging and self-worth so many of them are so desperately seeking.
Moorditj Mentoring Program A sub program of G.A.P focused on empowerment of Indigenous Youth and reconciliation. The program is tailored for each individual and facilitated by the embracement of the Whadjuk Nyoongar culture. Colosoul has a strong focus on the empowerment of Indigenous young people and reconciliation within Colosoul’s GAP Mentorship Program. Services are provided on a case-bycase basis and are tailored to individual needs. Colosoul’s GAP Program is facilitated by the embracement of the Whadjuk Nyoongar culture. This provides the cultural safety essential to the success of Indigenous participants, and also enlightens and broadens the horizons of the nonIndigenous participants.
The Refugee Sewing Program The Refugee Sewing Program is for 13 to 25 year olds. This program is currently being put into place. Colosoul has a heart to reach the unreached and offer doorways of opportunity through sewing, hairdressing, barista, English, creative writing and teaching. We believe everyone deserves to be given a second chance at life. We also know how important community and friendship is. This program is a fantastic tool for refugee migrants to connect with others from Australia.
COLOSOUL CAFÉ Our next venture is opening a café within our new premises. The café will mentor young people between 13 and 18 years old in barista, business skill development, client service, and finance management. The initiative of this cafe paves a way for young people that otherwise may not be possible. The cafe creates community, positive friendships, and a professional learning environment. With the decline of school attendance, we hope this is a another avenue for young people to actively participate and grow in self-confidence. This café encourages young people to communicate through creative ideas and empowers positive self-development. It also serves ethical meat and uses sustainable products.
HOW HAS COLOSOUL HELPED ME? I was unsure what I wanted to do when I left Uni at 20 even though I studied journalism. I love how Colosoul opens doorways of opportunities, I was able to assist in putting together a fashion event as that was more where my interest laid. It was hard work, creatively inspiring and really helped to forge my career path. It made me realise once the event was over and it was a success, that I really wanted to be a jewellery designer. I have set up my own Jewellery studio in NY, I have been privileged that celebrities have worn my creations and now I have a t-shirt range too. Would I be in the position I’m in now? Most likely not. Thank you Colosoul for paving the way for me. Melissa, 25 yrs old. I was 17 when I had the opportunity to model for Colosoul’s fashion show during PFF. As a young indigenous person I was trying to find my way in life, I was depressed and I was not confident at all. I had no idea what I really wanted to do with myself. I loved music, writing and modelling. Colosoul offered me to write for one of their magazines and I throughly enjoyed it. I joined their modelling agency and did some pretty amazing photoshoots. My confidence grew, I enjoyed the positive environment that Colosoul offered and the mentorship. I can’t believe I am happily married and absolutely love life! I have a heart to help others from difficult and diverse backgrounds. Thank you Colosoul for just allowing me to be creative and find my true inner self. Rochelle, 21 yrs old.
HOW HAS COLOSOUL HELPED ME? All I wanted to do when I heard about Colosoul was graffiti. I was from a bit of a tough background and I had no other passions in life. At 17 I entered the doors of Colosoul. The CEO said she would find me a wall to paint so I thought why not join this creative group. I was given a mentor who was putting T-shirts together and I was asked to help with some of the designs. I was put into a graphic design team and was mentored for the next 6 months. It was awesome, I loved going to Colosoul, I found something that took my interest. What do I do now, I don’t do graphics, I decided that I had enough confidence to apply for Uni and I got in to study science. Thanks Colosoul for helping me to find what I am passionate about. Steve, 18 yrs old.
I came to Colosoul when I was 18 my mum was really worried about me and wasn’t sure if I was going to be alive from one day to the next. When I walked through the doors of Colosoul I felt like I was finally able to express myself in a good way. I had the opportunity to put an event on and even MC for it to help raise awareness for protection of children. I have a love for music and was offered a position as an editor for one of our music magazines. It taught me leadership qualities, marketing, communication skills and most of all that I am important. What I do matters. I was able to find my passion in life and now I study radio and absolutely love it! Thank you Colosoul for being there for me when I needed it most. Louise, 20 yrs old.

OUR AMBASSADOR Sarah Danze
Throughout my time as Colosoul, I mentored the young people involved and was able to share my experience with them. I was asked to be their Ambassador - which was such a natural fit for me and easy to walk right into. I could see the absolute value for hands on experience and mentoring, as I know how difficult this industry is to get into. During my time at Colosoul I have seen many young people transform into confident and passionate workers, it’s amazing to see the impact that Tricia is having on them. Colosoul helps to set up those coming on board trying to break into the arts and media industry and exposes them to opportunities, which would not be available without their mentorship programs they have available. As a volunteer organisation it is really amazing to see so many young people coming together as a part of an arts community that allows these young people to realise their own potential whilst building up skills that will help them to be successful. If I had this opportunity to be involved in something so amazing when I was younger, I honestly believe it would of helped me get my foot into the industry door so much sooner. Wow, thanks Tricia for creating such an innovative, empowering, positive and creative environment for young people to be actively involved in.
