Clinical case
With the aid of gentle heat curing during the controlled fabrication process, BRILLIANT Crios attains its excellent mechanical qualities and an easy-to-polish homogeneous surface. Even extremely thin tapered restoration margins of only 0.1 mm can be ground precisely and accurately without chipping, allowing even greater substancefriendly design of restorations.
Initial situation
Preparation
BRILLIANT Crios blocs are available in 9 low and 4 high translucent shades. Shade adaptations or corrections can be realised immediately with composite direct on the patient. The secure adhesive bond is ensured with the matching ONE COAT 7 UNIVERSAL bonding system.
Final result The clever material yields The high flexural strength and the dentine-like modulus of elasticity convey a particularly high level of flexibility to the composite. This avoids stress peaks and reduces the risk of cracking or chipping. At the same time, BRILLIANT Crios is highly wear-resistant, kind to opposing teeth and creates a natural bite feel.

Universal submicron hybrid composite
BRILLIANT EverGlow® Flow The all-round talent The new BRILLIANT EverGlow Flow complements the latest generation of the submicron BRILLIANT EverGlow universal composite with a low viscosity variant with perfect thixotropic properties. BRILLIANT EverGlow Flow is a true all-round talent and suitable for a host of different indications. The flow composite fully exploits its strengths in terms of flow characteristics and surface wetting particularly well in cavity regions with difficult access, undercuts or cervical regions. Application of the versatile material is performed directly from the syringe – optionally with different application needles (Ø 0.4 and 0.8 mm) – and facilitates handling. Despite its low viscosity consistency, it remains stable and can be positioned easily and controlled as desired.
Highly stable, yet very flowable
BRILLIANT EverGlow
Effective shade management
The submicron BRILLIANT EverGlow hybrid composite is distinguished by its smooth consistency, fast polishability and long-lasting brilliance. Due to its sophisticated filler composition, the material is easy to apply to tooth surfaces without sticking to the instrument.
The cleverly devised Duo Shade System of the BRILLIANT EverGlow Flow utilises its excellent optical self-blending properties to cover two VITA* shades (for example, A1/B1 or A2/B2) with a single shade component. In addition to the six Universal shades, an opaque material in A2 as well as a translucent enamel shade are also available. Thus the small Flow range covers all aesthetic requirements.

TREATMENT AUXILIARIES
ROTARY INSTRUMENTS
DIATECH® ShapeGuard New extremely tear-resistant 12µ HANEL occlusion foil Testing and correcting occlusions are demanding tasks in modern dentistry. Occlusal indifferences can cause functional interference, which in turn can lead to tooth damage and pain for the patient. It is therefore essential to identify and avoid even the slightest contact interference.
Strong in Polishing. Gentle on Surfaces. The owners of luxury cars as well as dentists are often faced with the same question with regard to polish: how to obtain a fast and gentle high gloss without damaging the surface? A smart solution is now available for dentists: the DIATECH ShapeGuard polishers with their flexible lamellae can polish composites and ceramics to a high gloss easily and quickly - and new - also zirconium oxide restorations.
DIATECH ShapeGuard is suitable for all composites such as BRILLIANT EverGlow, COMPONEER composite enamel shells or the dual-curing Fill-Up! bulk filling material. And, of course, the polishers can also be used for the composite-based CAD/CAM BRILLIANT Crios blocs. This polisher is fast, easy and intuitive to use and achieves outstanding high luster polishing results.
Flexible lamellae for the tooth structure The special shape and the flexible lamellae of the silicone polisher were developed to simplify intraoral polishing considerably. It adapts to every surface and supports even pressure without abrading the morphology of the tooth, such as elaborately designed cusps and contact points.
Allows tests even under tension or movement Different techniques are used to identify such early contacts, which is why COLTENE will offer dentists a second type of occlusion foil in future: in addition to the standard HANEL 12µ occlusion foils which have been marketed for decades, a new occlusion foil with the same strength but extremely high tearresistance will be offered. Due to this outstanding property, the new HANEL occlusion foil is ideal for exposing contacts in lateral and protrusion movements. Even if the dentist pulls on the foil in the final bite position, the foil is resistant enough not to tear and withstand the stress with ease. The new occlusion foil will be available both single and double-sided in the traditional colours of the proven HANEL occlusion foils and can be used for testing on all materials.

ROTARY INSTRUMENTS
Diamond instruments for Zirconia and other high performance ceramics
DIATECH® Z-Rex
ROTARY INSTRUMENTS
High performance ceramics, such as zirconium oxide, are an established part of prosthetic solutions as crown or bridge materials which can be subject to high stress loads. However, their high strength and stability can prove to be a major challenge during processing. As a result, high performance ceramics are somewhat difficult to process with conventional rotary instruments.
Primal power harnessed
´´ ´´ ´´ ´´ ´´ ´´
DIATECH Z-Rex diamond instruments, as sharp and indestructible as a dinosaur‘s tooth, are an effective means for this demanding task. Effortless processing, removal or trepanning of ceramic restorations is now possible. The unique composition of various synthetic diamonds as well as the exclusive ERA bonding are the ingredients for making instruments with enormous stability and remarkable efficiency.
Revolutionary ERA bonding Reduced delamination of diamonds Exceptional combination of durability and efficiency Shortened procedure time Offered in medium and coarse grit Individually packaged in blisters
Enhanced Resilient Alloy (ERA) bonding1 The revolutionary “Enhanced Resilient Alloy“ ERA bonding, which offers exceptional properties, was developed specifically for the new DIATECH Z-Rex. Compared with conventional bondings, the ERA matrix bonding consists of an alloy with a 70 %² higher Vickers hardness, which is tougher and therefore incorporates diamonds more firmly. These properties lead to less grain pull-out of the diamonds and result in greater stability and efficiency³.
Different degrees of fixation of diamonds DIATECH Z-Rex Bonding
DIATECH Standard Bonding
Competitor Bonding
DIATECH Z-Rex instruments are available in two grain sizes: “medium“ for precision work which minimises the risk of micro-cracks, and “coarse“ for even greater efficiency in crown cutting. The diamond instruments are packaged individually in blisters which simplifies handling and traceability.

Ca/P atomic ratio GuttaFlow bioseal is an innovative root canal filling material and upon contact with body fluids, the material provides natural repair constituents such as calcium and silicates and sets biochemical processes in motion. By forming hydroxyapatite crystals, the bioactive material supports the adhesion and regeneration of bone and dentine tissue. The 3-in-1 cold filling system is a combination of a bioceramic and flowable gutta-percha, which acts both as sealer and seals reliably. In case of later leaks in the root, the bioactive protection is triggered and represents a second safety stage.

Spark-eroded NiTi files
Clinical studies
HyFlex™ EDM OneFile
In studies, the HyFlex EDM OneFile demonstrated a significantly higher fatigue resistance than the Reciproc R25 and WaveOne Primary files, or the ProTaper Universal and ProTaper Gold files manufactured with a special metal processing method.
Extremely break-resistant The innovative production process using spark erosion (Electrical Discharge Machining) for the HyFlex EDM NiTi files allows manufacturing different cross-sections within a single file as well as a unique, hardened surface. This increases the cutting performance, improves flexibility and increases break resistance by up to 700 %.
Like the well established HyFlex™ CM files, all HyFlex™ EDM files are characterised by their exceptional flexibility. In contrast to traditional NiTi files, they exhibit almost no memory effect and can thus be pre-bent. Due to the “Controlled Memory“ effect, the file moves optimally in the canal centre, helping to reduce the risks of a Via Falsa. This unmatched combination of flexibility and break resistance enables a significant reduction in the number of files used, without making compromises in maintaining the natural root canal anatomy. The entire spectrum of modern endodontics can be covered by using the modular HyFlex™ EDM and CM NiTi file systems.
Clinical case by Dr. Thomas Rieger
“Here, the filigree endo instruments were able to clearly demonstrate their true break resistance. Within only a few minutes it was possible to clean the entire canal. No additional equipment was necessary even for such angled root canals, and preparation was possible effortlessly with standard instruments and without greater risk.“ Dr. Thomas Rieger1 14
The HyFlex EDM OneFile also convinced the endo specialists in a practice test with its outstanding flexibility and break resistance. They recommend HyFlex EDM files as a file system with which both beginners and endo experts can achieve fast and reliable results - even with a reduced number of files.

Economical entry into the CAD/CAM age
The Premium A-silicone AFFINIS brand is being extended with the new scannable AFFINIS DCode. Due to its exceptional flow properties, the novel, self-contouring high precision material records even the finest details and undercuts reliably and accurately. These decisive details are often difficult to record with conventional intraoral scanners. The thermo-active formulation allows relaxed application and bonds rapidly in situ - the ideal snapset between generous processing time and short dwell time in the patient‘s mouth. Subsequent digitalisation in the scanner without the additional application of powder saves a work step and minimises sources of errors in the process chain. Familiar practice workflows for impression taking remain unchanged.
AFFINIS DCode is now available in four consistencies: in addition to the two tray materials “putty soft“ and “heavy body“, the two “regular body“ and “light body“ correction materials are available from the dental retail trade. An attractive starter sample set is available for the IDS at a special price - ask your representative. The scannable AFFINIS line offers clinicians a simple and economical entry to the fabrication of modern CAD/CAM solutions.
The generated digital data can be sent conveniently to the laboratory per mouse click and archived in the practice. Like all COLTENE A-silicones, the AFFINIS DCode stands for the most precise impressions, even remaining dimensionally stable after optional autoclaving.
