New pet care organization swamped with offers of support

By Cayla Gabruck Pioneer Staff When Lana Banham and Cindy Hopper decided to start an organization to reunite lost pets with their owners, they had no idea how successful it would be.

Since the announcement of the organization in The Pioneer on August 17, the pair has received dozens of phone calls from people wanting to help any way they can.

“We definitely expected a fair amount of response as far as people wanting to volunteer and having some items that they may want to give for donation,” said Cindy Hopper, co-founder of the organization. “But the response has been phenomenal.”

The organization, called the Invermere Compassion Animal Network (ICAN), has already successfully paired one kitten with a good home and has just received word of several other kittens in need of adoption.

They have also had numerous donations of pet supplies.

“We have received a lot of material items . . . a lot of day-to-day needs for pets,” Cindy said.

These accessories will go out with foster pet parents to ensure that they have everything they need to care for the animal during their stay.

“We have had some monetary donations as well.

One has already been put to use for a wonderful lit-

tle six-week-old kitten that needs a new home,” she added.

To date, there have been a dozen people who have volunteered to be foster pet parents for dogs and the organization is still looking for more volunteers.

The organization has also been donated an insulated and heated shed, complete with a chain enclosure and a cat door.

“The response is fantastic,” Cindy said. “It’s been a relief that there are so many people who are on board and just so willing to give time to it.”

Even though they have had a great response, Cindy said that they can never have too many volunteers.

“Any little amount of help is just as much as anything else,” she said. “Even if we have an animal that needs exercise or if they want to spend a few minutes just petting a cat.”

The group is still looking for volunteers willing to provide foster homes for animals while they are waiting for their new homes. They are also looking for donations of used pet supplies such as collars, leashes and kennels.

By Brian Geis Pioneer Staff One anti-Jumbo activist is hoping to gain some traction in the fight against the proposed $700-million ski resort from a new study that found there are fewer grizzly bears in the Central Purcells than previously thought.

Dr. Michael Proctor, a Kaslo-based biologist who authored the study, penned a letter to three provincial ministries challenging previous assumptions used in the Jumbo Glacier Resort decision-making process.

“The reason I am writing this letter is because the lower estimates have significant implications for the Jumbo Glacier Resort decision,” Dr. Proctor wrote.

“It has always been assumed that because the Central Purcell grizzly bear population was at 93 percent of its potential (provincial files), those bears could likely withstand the added stress of the Jumbo resort.

“However, with our new data it appears that the Central Purcell grizzly population is more likely between 50-60 percent (54 percent is our estimate) of its potential. Fifty percent of potential is the threshold for threatened status in B. C.”

Dr. Proctor reasons that the previous work done to assess the potential impacts of the Jumbo resort were operating under the erroneous assumption that the Central Purcell (and adjacent South Purcell) population units were healthier than they really are.

In his letter, Dr. Proctor said the management actions agreed to by the resort proponent needed to mitigate the impact on the grizzly bear population are now needed to merely recover the population to previous levels.

The June 2007 letter and study doesn’t appear to have made much of a splash on either side of the debate over the embattled resort proposal, as it is only now surfacing. Dr. Proctor did not respond to calls or e-mails on the topic.

B.C. Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts Communications Director Donald McDonald admitted seeing some e-mail traffic on the topic, but blamed summer vacations for the lack of a response. Neither the Jumbo Creek Conservation Society or Wildsight issued a press release about the study. Resort proponent Glacier Resort Vice-President Grant Costello said he needed time to review the study before responding.

“We were aware of the ongoing studies as we attended a Grizzly Bear Workshop early this year at which time the preliminary findings of Proctor’s research were discussed by a number of grizzly bear experts.

“When the Master Development Agreement is signed, Glacier Resorts Ltd. is required to develop a monitoring program to assess any change in grizzly bear numbers and distribution in the Central Purcell Mountain grizzly bear population both before and after construction begins.

“As well, Glacier has committed, as a condition of the Environmental Certificate, to establish and participate in a Grizzly Bear Management Committee to oversee implementation of a Grizzly Bear Management Plan.”

Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts Junior Public Affairs Officer Morningstar Topham said the ministry continues to refine the options available to mitigate the resort’s impact on grizzlies.

“During our discussions with Ktunaxa Nation on grizzly bear impacts, Michael Proctor brought this information to our attention, so it was con-

sidered by the working group,” she responded by e-mail.

“The Jumbo Glacier Resort Master Plan has been approved, subject to conditions, commitments, mitigation measures, etc., which were compiled through the course of all reviews.

“The Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts and the Ktunaxa Nation are exploring additional options which are intended to minimize impacts on grizzly bears in the Jumbo Glacier Resort area.”

Wildsight Program Manager Dave Quinn, who was thanked in the study for his support, said the study present a unique opportunity to reestablish the grizzly bear population before costly reintroduction efforts are needed.

Mr. Quinn pointed to provincial efforts to reestablish the mountain caribou population as a reason to heed Dr. Proctor’s warning about the grizzlies.

“I don’t think the province wants to go there with the grizzly bears,” he said.

“The costs of recovery and reintroduction are astronomical and that’s direct cost right to you and me, the taxpayers, not the project proponent.

“I think we have a great opporunity here to make a decision regarding the grizzly bears and not proceed down a path of million of dollars in costs of recovery and reintroduction made necessary by establishing a city of 6,500 people in the middle of the Purcell Wilderness.”

Roly retired in 2004 from his position as Director of the Architecture Engineering/Construction Investment and Industry Development

Investment & Trade Division, for the Government of Alberta. This department received the 2001 Premier’s Award of Excellence. He leaves his legacy as the founder of the Alberta Buyer Seller Forum, which has now become a national event. Lifetime member of the APEGGA since 1961, Roly was a very well known and respected member of the oil/gas and building industries across Alberta and worldwide from his business trips. Roly coached and played many sports including swimming, tennis, skiing, softball, volleyball, golfing, biking, soccer and hockey. He played on the Chemcell and Old Timers hockey teams and rugby team, the Leprechauns.

Roly enjoyed traveling with the family, his meticulously crafted photo albums, playing games (cribbage), dancing, boating and a love for his family and animals.

On Sundays, he played the trumpet and piano and enjoyed sightseeing drives with his family.

We are so blessed to have a wonderful father and friend like you dad! We miss you every day. Life will never ever be the same.

On writing editorials

By Elinor Florence Pioneer Publisher Writing editorials is the least-favourite part of my job, because I have so few strongly-held opinions. I like to think this is because I’m so open-minded that I can see all sides of an issue, although no doubt some would call me a prevaricator.

However, it is clear to me that in order to write a really powerful editorial you have to work yourself into a state of righteous indignation. This is a state which, for the most part, is foreign to my nature.

Unless there is a clear solution, even righteous rage seems pointless as it leads to the usual “someone should do something” editorial, which might make me feel better but serves no useful purpose.

The Pioneer is the happy paper: we like to make our readers feel better about themselves, their community and the world at large. “Count your blessings” is our unwritten motto, not “The world is going to hell in a handbasket.” But that doesn’t make for gripping editorials.

Our editorials are signed, since they are invariably written by one individual. Traditionally, unsigned editorials in larger newspapers are the result of a joint meeting by an editorial board, which hammers out the newspaper’s position on a topic and then appoints some unnamed person to write about it. That makes it easy for the writer to hide.

Our editorials are shorter than average; I like to think that if you can’t make your point in 350 words, then you haven’t thought about it enough.

Oddly enough, newspaper readership statistics show that editorials are the least-read part of the newspaper. Some newspapers, in fact, have dropped them altogether, saying that they are a waste of space.

Other newspaper studies have found that, although people don’t read the editorials, they like to know they are there. This is akin to the idea that probably every valley resident supports the concept of Kootenay National Park, even though many of them may never do more than drive through it on their way to Calgary.

Waiting for a drink of water Dear Editor: The information listed below has been published in The Pioneer over the past two years.

March 31, 2006: Council approves drilling a $135,000 production well into an aquifer originally discovered in a 2004 search.

October 6, 2006: An article appeared under the headline “Invermere’s water strategy” and ending with a description of the chosen well to be developed.

August 17, 2006: “Invermere digs pipepline to new well.” An article follows this headline, describing where the work will start on 6th Street “next week.”

As of today, August 24, 2007, no ground has been broken.

Hurry up, District of Invermere, a lot of us are waiting for a drink of that good water.

This area gets no respect from Victoria Dear Sirs: Miracles never cease to happen, as I find myself agreeing finally with some Canadian politicians.

The article on proposed electoral boundary changes for interior ridings should unite all B.C. interiorites, as MLA Bill Bennett so aptly says, when we won’t have the political power to protect ourself by losing seats.

Every year billions of dollars pour into Victoria from the resource-based towns of the interior.

Money is used to build highways, bridges, schools, and hospitals in the lower mainland.

We are the hewers of wood, drawers of water, producers of electricity, producers of natural gas, and diggers of coal for urban parts of the province.

We are also “The Rodney Danger-

fields of the B.C. Political Process.” We get no damn RESPECT! Maybe it is time to think about joining the province of Alberta and have those billions go to Edmonton and earn that respect that is justly ours.

Or maybe it is time to form an interior party to really fight for that respect and, if necessary, say goodbye to our friends at the coast.

The interior ridings are too large now area-wise and geographically, and I am sick and tired of imitating Rodney Dangerfield and would appreciate our fellow B.C. citizens west of Hope to show us some respect.

We do appreciate being part of B.C. but if push comes to shove maybe it is time to fight.

Two pieces of art from local artists have been donated to raise funds for the family of Keira Neal, the little girl from Fairmont Hot Springs whose leg will be amputated on September 4th.

Tickets were on sale for a painting

by Lynn Grillmair of Brisco entitled Mount Laverendrye, but all 250 tickets have been sold, according to local organizer Pat Allen.

Now local artist Pat Bavin has stepped forward to donate a second painting called Ram’s Pasture Cabin.

The nine-by-12-inch acrylic painting was created in 2005 after the artist spent a week painting and sketching the original buildings that remain at NumTi-Jah Lodge in Banff National Park.

The lodge was built by the legendary guide Jimmy Simpson at Bow Lake, 40 kilometres north of Lake Louise, on the Banff-Jasper Highway. Construction was started in 1937 after the highway was completed as far as Bow Lake.

Natalie Forrest is doing her part to help out the Global Mala Project, an international program which aims to raise awareness, consciousness and funds for causes such as Trees for the Future Natalie Forrest and War Child.

The Invermere Global Mala Project is running on September 22nd, in conjunction with the United Nations Peace Day. “I really like the idea of being a part of something bigger,” Natalie said.

She got the idea to help out with the project after receiving a letter from her yoga teacher in Los Angeles, Shiva Rea, who just happened to start the entire movement.

Natalie moved to Invermere in 1999. She originally came here to visit her mother, Joan Forrest, who used to be the postmaster, and endied up staying here permanently.

In September, she is officially opening her own yoga studio called Walking Bliss.

Natalie is inviting anyone from Cranbrook to

Golden to come take part in 108 minutes of personally inspired yoga and 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards Trees for the Future, an organization planting trees worldwide to combat the global warming and help developing countries to better sustain themselves.

Up-to-date Trees for the Future has planted 50 million trees.

The original goal of the Global Mala Project was to have 30 countries and 108 yoga studios worldwide participating in the project.

That goal has already been achieved.

Natalie’s goal for the Invermere division is to have 54 people participating.

“It’s something much bigger than Invermere,” she said. “We are just doing our part.”

The yoga will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22. Participants are urged to bring a $20 donation for the Global Mala project. There is a limited number of project T-shirts available and participants are urged to contact Natalie soon.

YOUR MONEY Ways to buy a mutual fund

As of July 2007, the mutual fund industry was managing a whopping $703.5 billion of Canadian’s investments and savings - an increase of over 96 percent since August 1999 when Canadians had $358 billion invested in mutual funds.

While using mutual funds to invest in Canada remains as popular as ever, the industry has become more complex and industry competition has been heating up over the past ten years with the emergence of the big banks and their mutual fund line-ups. Today’s industry offers clients more choices than ever as to how they will pay for their mutual funds.

So if you do use mutual funds to have your money managed, be sure to explore all of your options when deciding how you will pay.

There are four options when buying mutual funds: the front-end load structure, the back-end load structure, the low-load structure and the no-load structure.

In the case of front-end load structures the financial advisor or firm that sells you the fund will charge you a commission at the time of purchase. This commission can range from 0 percent to 5 percent and compensates the advisor or firm for their time in building a portfolio and selecting mutual funds to match your financial needs.

If investors do not want to pay a front-load structure they can always take a back-load structured fund.

The back-load structure or deferred services charge (DSC) is one where the investor does not pay a fee to purchase the fund initially. However, if they decide to sell the fund in the first five to seven years they will pay a back-end fee generally ranging from 6.5 to 2.5 percent depending on how long they have held the fund.

In a low-load structured mutual fund, investors don’t pay front-end fees similar to back-end funds but only get locked into a two to three-year redemption

schedule with one to three percent redemption fees.

So given the choice, why would investors who don’t want to pay a front-end commission to buy a mutual fund take a back-end structure rather than a low-load structure? They wouldn’t, but unfortunately not all advisors tell their clients about the low-load structure because they get heavily compensated to sell back-end structures. Some firms also prohibit their advisors to deal with mutual fund companies that offer a low-load structure.

The fourth type of load structure available in the mutual fund market is the no-load structure. Investors who purchase no-load structure mutual funds do not pay a commission to buy a mutual fund nor do they get locked-up in a fee schedule.

No-load structured funds provide investors with the greatest flexibility while not locking in the investment for period. The major banks were the first to introduce no-load mutual funds and now many other firms and financial advisors offer this same structure.

So why would an investor who didn’t want to pay a commission to buy a fund choose the back-end or low-load structures over the no-load structures? Again, not all investment advisors or firms offer the no-load structure. In fact, many don’t or won’t and it wasn’t until the major banks started offering no-load funds that some investment advisors and firms began to offer their own no-load structure.

As the competition for market share continues in the mutual fund industry watch for more investment firms and advisors to adopt a no-load structure for their clients. This competition will make it harder for small firms and beginning financial advisors to survive and industry consolidation will be the result. Consolidation will lead to less competition and greater fees again sometime in the future. In the meantime, the options to buy mutual funds keep getting better.

New private school still in the works

By Pioneer Staff A proposed new private school called Elkhorn College will not start operations until next year, says organizer Hans Leverkus.

Hans and Connie Leverkus own and operate Elkhorn Ranch in Windermere.

The third partner in the venture, Rod Conklin, is the founder and superintendent of Rundle College, a prestigious private school in Calgary.

When the trio became friends in 2005, Hans and Connie were considering schooling options for their twin sons Bjorn and Barend, now entering Grade 2 in the public school system.

They ran several advertisements early this year asking for interest and were pleased by the response, Mr. Leverkus said.

“It was very positive. We have about 30 children on our list - some of whom haven’t even been born yet!”

He said there was also interest from people planning to move into the Co-

lumbia Valley.

Before approval of any new school can be issued, government legislation requires an initial enrolment of at least ten students.

Mr. Leverkus said the partners are still in the research and development stage but plan to hold a public meeting in the fall to inform prospective parents of the progress that has been made so far.

As envisioned, the school will admit day students and, eventually, boarders from all over the world. Admission requirements will evolve and class sizes will be small. The students will wear uniforms and adhere to a code of conduct.

The standard K-12 curriculum will apply, but with maximum time devoted to the core subjects. Only experienced teachers eligible for certification in B.C. will be recruited.

Back to school tips Rocky Mountain School District (Windermere) welcomes students back to school on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Students will attend school during the morning only of September 4, with buses leaving schools between 11:00 and 12:00 noon. Copies of the bus schedule are available for pick-up at any school. Regular hours of operation will commence on Wednesday, September 5, 2007.

All students, on their first day of attendance, must possess a pen/pencil and paper, or appropriate supplies from the school’s supply list.

Tips for helping students get started • If your children are going to a new school, check with the school to see what information or identification will be required on registration day.

Thanks to Shandrea O’Brien, the Columbia Valley Gymnastic Association will be in full swing come September.

The association was running the risk of closure after having some difficulties finding a qualified head coach for Shandrea O’Brian the program - that is, until Shandrea read an article published in The Pioneer describing and Alberta.

It’s time to clean up our lake Submitted by Heather Leschied Lake Windermere Project Wildsight, a leading force for conservation in Canada’s Columbia and Southern Rocky Mountains, invites area residents to lend a helping hand with this year’s Lake Windermere Shoreline Cleanup.

The event is held in conjunction with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup Week and will take place on Saturday, September 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, and involves more than just removing litter. Participants also collect data on the types of debris found along their shoreline and the activities that produce this debris. By joining the TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup,

a Vancouver Aquarium Conservation Program, valley residents will be contributing to an international effort to reduce the amount of litter that enters our rivers, lakes, and oceans.

In 2006, at the request of local resident and long time shoreline cleanup coordinator Bill Ayrton, the Lake Windermere Project took over the organization of this successful event which is now heading into its 12th consecutive year.

All materials will be provided, and the Lake Windermere Project will arrange the disposal of collected garbage. Community groups, businesses, school groups, families and friends are all welcome to join in on this rewarding event.

Did you know most shoreline litter actually originates from land-based activities? Every time it rains and the wind blows, litter on land makes its way into our storm sewers, creek and rivers, and eventually into the lake.

Did you know that cigarette butts are the world’s greatest environmental litter problem? It is estimated that one in three cigarettes end up as litter, and once tossed aside, they can leach chemicals such as cadmium, lead and arsenic into our environment within an hour of contact with water. Last year alone, cleanup efforts removed over 214,000 cigarette butts from Canadian shorelines.

School District welcomes staff and students back to school The Board of Education and administration of the Rocky Mountain School District hope that you are completing an enjoyable summer and that, like us, you are looking forward to the 2007-2008 school year.

Each September brings with it the pleasure of renewing acquaintance with our returning staff, students and their families and the joy of welcoming students, their families and new staff to our schools and district. We are looking forward to working with you to achieve a rewarding and successful school year.

We are pleased to announce three administrative appointments which were made over the summer: Mark Koebel, formerly Principal, Martin Morigeau Elementary School, is moving to a Vice-Principal position at David Thompson Secondary School; Doug Yukes, formerly a teacher and administrator with Edmonton Catholic School Division, has been appointed Principal, Martin Morigeau Elementary School; and Carolynne Muncer, formerly a teacher and administrator with the Gold Trail School District, has been appointed Principal, Eileen Madson Primary School.

A focus on success, strengthening partnerships and a commitment to communication are key to the work of School District No. 6. We urge you to pick up a copy of “Planning for Success,” our district brochure which is available in all schools and the district offices and outlines initiatives focused on student success and provides contact information for Trustees, our unions, the District Parent Advisory Council and senior staff.

Following is a brief outline of a number of critical 2007-2008 directions whose success will be dependent on communication and shared leadership: • Review of District Directions 2008, the Rocky Mountain School District long-term goals, and through a collaborative process develop District Directions 2013; • Expand early learning programs with the development of the Blarchmont Early Learning Centre in Kimberley, the implementation of a Strong Start Centre and pre-school at Alexander Park Elementary School in Golden, and the addition of an early learning program at Edgewater Elementary School;

• Continue to develop and complete the Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement; • Review and revise the Local Education Agreement with the Akisqnuk First Nation; • Appoint teacher Learning Coaches to support teachers in their learning leadership work; • Continue to focus on professional growth opportunities for all staff; • Expand opportunities for students through trades programs, dual-credit opportunities with the College of the Rockies, on-line learning, the continued implementation of Board Authority Authorized courses, and explore the possibility of implementing the Intensive Core French Program in the Windermere Zone; • In partnership with the District Parent Advisory Council and in consultation with Parent Advisory Councils, develop strategies to strengthen the role of Parent Advisory Councils; • Implement new legislative direction, including the development of the District Literacy Plan and the District Achievement Contract; • Continue to recognize and celebrate the contribution of parents, business, the College of the Rockies and the community to success for all students.

Spotlight on local artists at Pynelogs this week

By Alexandra Sellers Pynelogs Cultural Centre The current gallery show at Pynelogs features Trezlie Brooks, Susanne Forth, Kimberlee Whyte, Sebastian Bell, Marg Metcalf and Jan Zora. Come check it out daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The bold florals and sweeping landscapes of Margaret Metcalf are rich and a delight to the senses. After retiring from nursing, Marg finally had enough time to pursue her passion for art. She began taking courses whenever and wherever she could and works with a variety of media. “Each medium has endearing qualities and I find challenge in being able to explore and exploit those qualities,” says Margaret.

“The works of Jan Zora are a reflection of her boundless energy, her raw experience and unique view of the world,” begins Jan Zora’s Artist Statement. Largely self-taught, Jan moved to British Columbia in 1961 and has always had a sharp eye for design, colour, and contrast. She now resides in Invermere and has found even more time to create pieces with the encouragement of “the artistic climate and long winters!”

While acrylics are a relatively new progression for Sebastian and although “not keen” about it, he thinks he may eventually get into oils: “I like acrylics because they dry quickly . . . Oil painters work in studios, and I like to paint on site as much as I possibly can. Quite a lot of people use oils is a rather gloomy way. It’s easier (to paint rich colours) in acrylics.”

“Pynelogs is an amazing place where the ambiance is enhanced by unknown and unnamed presences,” says Chris Evans, arts council president and planner of the deathly Murder Mystery Dinner extravaganza on September 29th. The theme is based on the movie Casablanca. Guests will be invited to dress in period clothing. The audience will have a chance to talk to the actors . . . participation is completely up to the individual. Food should have a hint of Morocco in it and will be buffet-style.

The show has been generously sponsored by High Country Properties and the script is being provided by Juanita Rose Violini with Masterpiece Mysterys.

OBITUARY ROBERT EDWIN STEEDMAN July 16, 1949-August 23, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Robert (Bob) Edwin Steedman on August 23, 2007. He moved with his family to Windermere in 1960, where he grew up, had fun, fell in love with the mountains and horses and lived for most of his life. In recent years he would spend his winters in Mexico.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Helen and John Steedman.

He is survived by his sister Carol (John) Dobson of Sayward, B.C., two brothers, Don and Jack (Glenda) of Windermere, B.C., nephew Dale (Joanne & daughter Kylie) of Edgewater, B.C., nieces Lin and Anna Steedman, and two daughters, Kendra and Ashley Steedman of Redmond, Washington. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Bob’s life was held at the Windermere Community Hall and The White House on Tuesday, August the 28th.

FAITH

God knows what we need better than we do

By Pastor Jared Enns Lake Windermere Alliance Church When Robby was a little boy, he wanted to be a cowboy. He spent countless hours in front of the television watching reruns of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He just knew that someday he would live on a ranch, wear a big cowboy hat, and ride the range just like all his cowboy heroes.

When he was seven years old, Robby said, “Dad, I want to be a cowboy when I grow up. Will you help me be a cowboy?”

“Sure, son,” said his dad, smiling down at his little cowpoke.

As the years went by, Robby grew into a fine young man. As you might expect, he outgrew his childhood fantasy of becoming a cowboy and turned instead to girls, sports, studying and preparing himself for a career in the business world.

One day Robby went to his father again and said, “Dad, I want to go to college and get a good education. Will you help me?”

His dad said, “College? Son, you can’t go to college. When you were seven, you said you wanted to be a cowboy. So I bought you a ranch with 100 head of cattle! There’s no money to send you to college, besides, you need to take care of that ranch. It’s all yours.”

“But, Dad!” said Robby. “I was just a child when I said that! I didn’t know then what I know now! I don’t

want a ranch! I want an education!”

Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t answer your prayers exactly the way you want Him to? Maybe it’s because we’re like Robby, and we don’t always know what’s best for us.

There may be times in life when you feel that God is not listening, that He seems to not even care. Instead of grumbling about unanswered prayers, we should be thankful God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we think He should.

God gives us promises throughout the Bible to remind us of His care for us and of His desire for us to pray to Him. God does not ignore our prayers. (Psalm 9:12) God honors persistence in praying (Matthew 7:7). God hears our prayers when they are in line with His will (1 John 5:14-15). A sincere prayer brings wonderful results (James 5:16).

God knows who you are, better than you know yourself and He also knows your needs. God knows if you are in need physically, He knows if you are distressed emotionally; He knows if you are empty spiritually; and He knows if you are struggling to understand life and all of the demands within. The promise of God in 1 Peter 5:7 is “Cast all your anxiety (cares, worries, problems) on Him because He cares for you.”

Now just maybe, you are not familiar with prayer, and you would like to learn more about prayer. Maybe you would like someone to pray with you, or you have a need that someone could pray for you about. We would love to pray with you and for you.
