Community Scholars Program
Community Scholars Program Columbus School for Girls is pleased to introduce the Community Scholars Program. This merit scholarship has been established between Huntington Bancshares Incorporated “Huntington” and Columbus School for Girls in recognition of the longstanding partnership between Huntington Bank and CSG.
At CSG, we don’t want finances to stand between us and the best students in Central Ohio.
$12.1 million in college scholarship offers over the past two years 100% admitted into 1 of their top 3 schools Over the past 5 years, 48% of CSG grads intend to major in a STEM field 60% of girls enrolled in schools out of state/country
The Benefits CSG is recognized for academic excellence developed through a relevant and meaningful curriculum, high caliber educators and a cutting-edge STEM program. At CSG, we empower girls to discover their distinct potential as learners and leaders. With an 8:1 student faculty ratio, each girl is encouraged to find her passion for learning, develop a deep level of confidence and recognize that she will make an impact. Recent research has confirmed what we have known for over 100 years-that a single sex educational environment is better for girls. CSG is the only school in central Ohio where bright girls can truly thrive in an environment created specifically for them.
The Program Columbus School for Girls will award one $10,000 merit scholarship exclusively to the employees at Huntington. This scholarship, available to new applicants entering grades 6-9, is renewable each year until graduation regardless of continued employment at Huntington. For example, a new grade 6 student would have the $10,000 merit award for seven years, a $70,000 gift. Families remain eligible to apply for need based tuition assistance. Why CSG? “All girl by design means that I have a young woman who will not just fly, she will soar after she leaves [CSG].My daughter knows how to find out the information, organize it, analyze it, come up with the appropriate result – an answer, a hypothesis, an opinion – and then communicate it. It isn’t memorization, drill, or rote learning; it is real-life learning, and it starts at age 3.” -Leslie Knott, Parent of 2016 Graduate Sarah Knott
“CSG is where I’ve learned about the power women possess.” -Maddie Woda, CSG Alumna On his interaction with CSG Middle School students: “I’ve rarely been in a room where people wanted to grab that mic more (nor a room with so much giggling). These girls unleashed unfettered joy in sharing these brief stories of their life (and I think having no boys around made them feel more empowered and unfiltered).” -Larry Smith, Author, Six-Word Memoir Project
