Welcome to Jeavons Wood Primary School.
We are really excited to be on this learning journey with you and your child.
At Jeavons Wood, the children are at the heart of all we do. This school is a place where everyone can succeed and where children are enabled to become kind, confident individuals who are independent and creative in their thinking.
We ensure all our children experience a wide range of opportunities to inspire a life-long love of learning. Our building and grounds are fantastic; spacious; vibrant and well cared for.
We do all we can to ensure our school environment continues to be stimulating and used effectively so all children can learn. Staff create a kind, nurturing and accepting atmosphere so all children are confident to learn.

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our children as confident, happy citizens. We have established a climate of care and consideration where adults and children respect one another and enjoy learning about each other’s achievements. We believe that mistakes are stepping stones to learning and encourage all to persevere.

Every member of our school community is unique and special and we have a responsibility to support each other in becoming the best we can be. We ensure equality of opportunity for all our children and adapt our teaching or provision to meet the needs of the individual. We are not all the same and we understand that people learn in different ways. All children need support and challenge through their learning.

We believe in setting high expectations of learning and behaviour, so that our children get the best possible outcomes. We are committed to delivering a knowledge rich, creative curriculum covering a wide range of subjects. The commitment of our staff to bring learning alive, ensures children continue to be excited to learn, to take risks and to aspire to improve. Our ‘wow days’ to start a unit of learning, provide a truly immersive, hands-on experience. Our teaching staff are highly effective at adapting learning to support all children. We pride ourselves in forming strong relationships with pupils and their families as this is fundamental to success.

WIDER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
To enhance our creative curriculum, we provide many extra educational opportunities. We are proud to be a Forest School, and all children learn forest skills throughout their time at Jeavons Wood. We believe that all children should learn to cook and provide many opportunities for this within our curriculum. Sport and the arts have high profiles in our school with many opportunities to take part in competitions and represent the school. All our children have the opportunity to attend numerous trips and wider events to enhance learning. Our 20 ‘Jeavons Experiences’ show our commitment to giving children life skills beyond the National Curriculum.
