15.00: Coach departs for Piano di Sorrento 16.30 Coach arrives at the Hotel la Ripetta, Piano di Sorrento – check in and unpack. Explore town and go to the beach. 19.30: Evening meal at the hotel

8.00: Breakfast at the hotel 9:00: Leave for visit to Mount Vesuvius 10.30: Arrive at Mount Vesuvius and tour by an alpine guide

12.00: Lunch included in tour price

13.30: Depart for Pompeii

14.10: Visit Pompeii with a guide 16.00: Time for students to take photographs 16.30: Leave to return to the hotel 18.00: Arrive at hotel 19.30: Evening meal at the hotel

7.45: Breakfast at the hotel 8.30: Leave for a visit to Capri 9.50: Arrive at harbour to catch the hydrofoil – please pack travel sickness tablets! 10.25: Arrive on Capri and explore the island 11.00: Catch chairlift to Ana Capri for an ice-cream at the top!

12.30: 2 course lunch on Ana Capri (included in tour price)

13.30: Students have an opportunity to buy souvenirs 15.30: Catch minibuses down to the harbour 16.20: Catch the hydrofoil back to Naples 16.45: Arrive at Sorrento Port 17.30: Return to the hotel 19.30: Evening meal at the hotel

Itinerary: Thursday 17th July 8.00: Breakfast at the hotel 9.00: Leave for visit to Herculaneum 10.30: Arrive at Herculaneum and collect headsets for a guide around the site 12.30: Leave to go to Sorrento 13.30: Arrive at Sorrento for lunch (included in tour price) 15.00-16.00: Ice-cream making and tasting session 16.00: Free time for shopping and sightseeing in Sorrento – time to buy snacks for flight the following day! 17.00: Leave to return to the hotel 17.30: Arrive at the hotel and time to pack luggage before final evening meal 19.00: Evening meal and prize giving!


Itinerary: Friday 18 April th

08.30: Breakfast (last meal included) and luggage is stored away

13.30: Coach departs hotel for Naples Capodichino Airport

15.30: Coach arrives at Naples Capodichino Airport and check in (Flight no: BA2611)

17.30: Flight departs for Gatwick (no meal on flight – students will have a chance to buy snacks the day before)

19.15: Flight arrives at Gatwick

20.15: Board coach to return to CVC

22.00: Approximate arrival time at CVC - please make arrangements to collect your son/daughter. If there is a change of time, we will be in touch.


Expectations on the trip • Students will be registered in groups and assigned to a specific member of staff. Students must listen carefully to instructions and act on these immediately. • Students will be expected to adhere to instructions at all times. • Students must be responsible on the trip – for themselves, others and their belongings! • Students must be polite and respectful to all staff. • Students will not be allowed to buy tobacco or alcohol on the trip. • Please read through the Behaviour Policy. Both a parent /guardian and son/daughter needs to sign this and return to the History/RPE office by Monday 7th July.


Recommended items to take! • Appropriate and sensible clothing – it will be hot and humid • Suntan lotion is HIGHLY recommended!! • Sensible shoes…walking is a key part of the trip! • Camera • Spending money & 15 euros deposit for the room (per student!) – recommended amount per day is approximately 20 euros


Valuables and Passports

• Staff will keep hold of passports for the trip – please bring these (& EHICs)to the History/RPE office on Monday 7th July • The ONLY time students will have these is when passing through customs. • • Mobile phones to be brought at own risk • Ipods / MP3s useful for coach journeys, and camera for taking pictures, but carried at own risk • Money


Luggage allowance • Students have a luggage allowance of: • Hand luggage = One piece of standard baggage no bigger then 56 x 45 x 25cms including wheels and the handle • Please note that hand luggage should NOT contain liquids of 100mls+ • Checked luggage = One piece not exceeding 23 kg (no bigger than 90 x 75 x 43 cms)


Rooming on the trip • Students will be expected to attend a meeting on Monday 7th July in Hi1 at 12.20pm • Students will be in rooms of threes and fours. • Staff rooms will be dotted around student rooms and students will be made aware of where they are. • There will be no swapping of rooms once these are agreed. • Girls and boys rooms are separate!


Final reminders! • Students need a packed lunch for Monday 14th July and 15 euros for deposit! They will also need money for lunch on the final day (Friday 18th July). • Students attend a rooming meeting on Monday 7th July at 12.20 in Hi1. • Please check that your son/daughter has their passport and EHIC card in date – passed to Ms Titchmarsh by Monday 7th July. • Return behavioural policy by Monday 7th July to Ms Titchmarsh in the History/RPE office. • Please note the times of drop-off (2.30 am on Monday 14th July) and pick-up (10 pm on Friday 18th July).
