Brave Little Gorilla
In a big nest of leaves live a brave little gorilla and his grandfather.
Grandfather used to be the strongest of all the gorillas. But that was a long time ago. Now, he is glad to have the help of his grandson.
“Little Gorilla, could you please go get the three eggs that the crane left for me by the river’s edge?”
“Yesss!” answers the little one. “Eggs for supper! I will go right away!” “Careful not to break the eggs on your way back,” Grandfather warns. Little Gorilla swings nimbly from tree to tree all the way down to the river.
Vervet, who is resting in the cool shade of a bush, hears the rustling of Little Gorilla swinging by. “Hmm… I wonder where he is off to in such a rush?” So Vervet decides to follow him.
Once at the shore, Little Gorilla easily spots the three beautiful eggs waiting under the sun. “Hello, little one!” says the flamingo. “What are you doing so far from your nest?”
“I’ve come to get the eggs that the crane left for my grandfather.” “What a brave grandson you are,” says the bird. Little Gorilla carefully gathers the three eggs in the crook of his arm. Hidden behind an old stump, nosy Vervet looks on.
