September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and I urge everyone to go gold for September – whether wrapping a gold bow around a tree in your front yard or as simple as making your social media profile picture a gold ribbon. Times Square has even agreed to go gold, and One World Trade is also doing the same. Every year since that fateful Tuesday morning in 2001, we remember those who perished on September 11th. This year marks the 13th anniversary, Monmouth County lost many friends that day, and I hope and pray for peace and healing for those families and friends that lost loved ones.

Real Estate will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fall Event to raise money for childhood cancer at the company’s Holmdel Regional office on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (rain date 9/28). Special guest and ATV Motorcross National Champion Nick Gennusa will be available throughout the event to sign autographs and pose for pictures. Gennusa, a former resident of Holmdel, is also the son of Gloria Nilson & Co. sales associate Carole Gennusa. The event will benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation which was created to honor the spirit and fundraising efforts of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). The featured Hero Ambassadors for this event are The Salerno Family and their son Tony Salerno, of Holmdel. Tony was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma when he was two and a half years old. After five rounds of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, today Tony is a cancer-free going into fifth grade. He serves lemonade for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation whenever he can to raise money for pediatric cancer research. “When you think about how this charity began, and the millions of dollars it has raised over the years to help kids fighting cancer, it’s just inspiring,” explained Dana D’Agostino-Ryser,

The Colts Neck Lions Club has teamed-up with Fireside Grill & Bar to sponsor the Inaugural Motorcycle Poker Run on October 11, 2014. The event will begin in Colts Neck, where each rider will receive one playing card and then proceed to three other stops around the county, receiving a card at each stop. The run will end at the Fireside Grill & Bar located on Rt. 79 in Marlboro Township, NJ. There, the riders will receive their final card. The rider with
the best 5-card hand will be the winner. Come and enjoy a Saturday fall ride through the county with other bike enthusiasts in support of a good cause with lunch served at the conclusion of the run. he Ashley Lauren Foundation, in conjunction with Tau Iota, the Ocean County College chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society held the 18th Annual Scott Chinery SUMMERFEST event for children with cancer and their families on August 16, 2014 in Colts Neck. “Our goal is to provide a day full of fun and laughter for children with cancer and their families, “Monica Vermeulen, Founder/CEO of The Ashley Lauren Foundation said.” “There are many devastating effects of cancer on the life of a child. It is a frightening world, which can rob these children of many childhood experiences and memories. We want to help them, for a few short hours, to forget about their illness and make some

happy memories.” There were over 200 attendees from throughout the State of New Jersey. They were treated to many fun activities including rides, food, entertainment, crafts, games, swimming and much more. Colts Neck Rockfest Back for 7th Year! Free Concert for Locals Featuring Area Bands
C
olts Neck Rockfest 2014 is packed with talented local musicians and admission is free! Head over to Bucks Mill Park, Bucks Mill Road on September 20, 2014 and enjoy this annual event which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Founder of the event Steve Warendorf started Colts Neck Rockfest in late August of 2008. “I had the idea to have a little free concert with a few musical acts at Bucks Mill Park in Colts Neck. My point was always to utilize the beautiful spaces we have available in town,” said Warendorf. In 2008, the musical acts were the Moroccan Sheepherders, Bullet Bob and the Colts, as well as a few acoustic artists. “It was basically a backyard barbecue held at the park. There were probably 30 people in attendance. It’s interesting to note that this was the Moroccan Sheepherders’ very first NJ cover music gig, as we were an original act from 1996 until then,” added Warendorf, who is a member of this band. Warendorf said he enjoys putting together a couple of events throughout the year, sometimes raising money for charities. “With Rockfest, just being able to break even and be able to put smiles on people’s faces, musicians and event goers alike, while utilizing the great park that we have available as Colts Neck residents is great. The young bands have a great place to bring their friends and families to see them play, while also getting new exposure. As a musician and the event founder, I also get a chance to play during the day in a couple of the acts I am involved with.” Warendorf is currently the guitarist for the Moroccan Sheepherders, Carnival Dogs, The Working Men – a Rush Tribute

Band, and the SMA Project. Several of these are playing at Rockfest this year. Steve Warendorf and his wife Michelle grew up in Colts Neck and have lived
there for more than 40 years. Other than a few years in Red Bank and a short stint in Jersey City, he professes to definitely be a “townie.” The Warendorfs have two children, Robbie, 18, and Madeleine, 15. Madeleine will be playing at Rockfest with her group, “Three Little Birds.” Colts Neck Rockfest has changed quite a bit since its first concert in 2008. The start and end times have increased to allow more bands to perform. And now there are varied musical acts ranging from Reggae to Latin to Classic Rock to Original music. Several vendors selling hand crafted goods and services, as well as a few food vendors will also be on hand. “Throughout its six-year existence, the event has always pleased both the young and old,” said Warendorf.

In addition to the seasoned musical acts, every year young bands and acoustic acts are welcomed to play. Since Rockfest 2009, this has always been an important part of the day, said Warendorf. “Young people seldom get places to play so this is a good way for them to be seen and heard. In addition to more musical acts and vendors over the years, in 2012 we had our first bonfire at the event! And one thing that we will always try to keep constant is the notion of this still staying a local, free, community event. Most of the bands help out in some way, from helping with parking to set up to clean up.” Today, there is a team of people who help out with different aspects of Rockfest - from vendor management to bonfire setup and cleanup to parking to general setup and cleanup. They include Michelle Warendorf, Martha Leonhart, Glenn Taglieri, Joe Bongiovi, Jack Lind, Larry Duffy, Rob DeCarolis, Ralph Somma, Alan Manzo and many more. Steve added that for the past three years, Sakoutis Brothers Disposal has donated a flatbed truck for them to use as our main stage. “It’s a no-brainer having Rockfest in Colts Neck. It’s a beautiful park with grills and a perfect space for the bands to play. The biggest change from last year will be that the Colts Neck Business Association is supporting the event. We also sell Rockfest t-shirts and sweatshirts, which you can view and buy on our website at www.sheepherders. com/cnrf,” said Warendorf.

SEPTEMBER UPDATE The CNBA is a proud and continued supporter of Operation Provide Comfort, a non-profit organization developed to support NJ Shore communities still suffering from Super Storm Sandy. On August 23, 2014, the CNBA sponsored Colts Neck’s own Jacquie Lee in concert benefitting Union Beach for an unforgettable event at Brookdale Community College. The “Two Towns-One Voice-One Mission” concert at the Robert J. Collins Arena was buzzing with energy, excitement and smiles as we watched one of our own become a star before our eyes. Like a pro, Ms. Lee commanded and entertained the large crowd – all for a great cause. 100% of the proceeds raised went directly to residents of Union Beach through the group Operation Provide Comfort, which is headed by former Marine and Colts Neck resident Jim Sfayer. Each month at the CNBA General Meeting, a guest speaker informs the filled room with items and topics relevant and interesting to individuals as well as businesses large and small. This month’s speaker was Rich Lee, or as he introduced himself “Jacquie’s Dad”. Rich shared stories about the challenges and excitements of fame and “life on the road with Momma Lee” - watching his daughter grow and the amazing support she and his family received as she hit the TV screen every week. Rich tried to explain how proud as a parent it is to see your child be happy and receive so much love from so many people. Rich is a true gentlemen and the room wished he and Jacquie luck as her star continues to rise. Upoming Events include the CNBA’s annual Pig Roast, slated for Tuesday, September 9 at Bucks Mill Park. Tickets are $25 for individuals and $200 for a table of 10. This is a wonderful local event attended by local residents as an end of summer party and is always memorable. Tips for a Great Parent/Teacher Connection It’s hard to believe we are back in school again! Stocked with new school supplies and back-to-school clothes, we have sent the kids off for another great year. Like many of you, I received my children’s teacher assignments and realized that I don’t know much about these teachers other than the parent word-on-the-street stuff that we often hear. What do you know about your children’s new teachers? What are their goals and objectives for the school year? This year, take the time to get to know them and find a positive and productive way to work together for the benefit of the kids. • Give them the 911 – Write a short note and offer insights about your children to help the teachers understand their likes and dislikes and motivations. • Don’t rush it and let everyone settle in - Allow teachers some time to figure out your kids and learn about their personalities, skills, and needs. • How can you help? - Ask what you can do at home to support what is being done in the classroom both academically as well as behaviorally. • Call, email, or stop by? - Determine appropriate times and ways to contact teachers to discuss both serious issues and get answers to logistical classroom questions. • What are you looking for? - Highlight your goals for the school year. • Prove it - Demonstrate your commitment to the parent-teacher partnership by providing your support at home. From my experience, this is one of the most important aspects of educating your child.

olts Neck based organization Daniela’s Wish held their first annual charity softball game on August 20 at Bucks Mill Park in Colts Neck. Approximately 125 people attended the family-fun event and watched four teams battle it out on the field, starting at 6:15 p.m. Team captain Blake Laurence led the Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Munoz team; Jennifer Lynn Chlebowski led Heavenly Touch Cosmetics team; Chris Acquaviva led the Acquaviva Enterprises team; and Joe Markulic led the Stafford Tribe team. A fun-family barbecue was part of the festivities and included hamburgers, hot dogs and water supplied by Daniela’s Wish. Chick-fil-A of Freehold was also a part of the barbecue. The kids enjoyed getting a tattoo, having fun on the playground, and getting ice cream from a visiting ice cream truck. Adults had the thrill of meeting and purchasing an autograph for $10 from former New York Giants Stephen Baker – The Touchdown Maker. Grand prize for the winning team included a trophy and a $200 restaurant gift card to Brio Tuscan Grille of Freehold, thanks to the generosity of Brio, who is a strong supporter of Daniela’s Wish. Wells Fargo Bank of Colts Neck joined the event and offered information about their bank to those who attended. All proceeds from this event will benefit Daniela’s Wish, a non-profit organization founded by twelve-year-old Daniela Olt. It is her wish that every child and their family feels safe during times of sadness. For that reason, Daniela’s Wish

n nearly all cases the last issue addressed is the division of the contents of the marital residence. How does a couple divide years – or even decades – worth of accumulated stuff? In other words, how are furniture, appliances, electronics, pots, pans, Tupperware and other minutiae divided? In most cases, by the time negotiations get to this point, the couple is ready to be done and they quickly reach an agreement. This is, however, not always the case.
sold and, thus, all the contents must be removed. An item by item selection can be initiated by the toss of a coin. In some cases the parties prefer to divide personal property on a room by room basis. For example, you take the living room; I’ll take the dining room, etc.
If one party is going to remain in the home and the other is leaving (or has already left), the leaving party can make a list of items he/she wants. The staying party can review the list and check off the items that are acceptable to take and those that are not. This narrows the items in dispute and limits and focuses the negotiation.
Sometimes the distribution of items of significant value winds up in litigation. Who gets the Picasso and who gets the Warhol? How much are they worth and how much are the parties willing to spend to fight over them?

of sale divided. That is usually counter-productive, however. Used furniture and other personal effects generally sell for a fraction of what it will cost to replace them. From a purely economic standpoint, compromising on the division of things almost always makes sense.
CLOSED TRANSACTIONS TO DATE:
In one case several years ago, a judge ordered both parties to prepare a list of the contents. He swore them both in and then went through both lists, item by item, asking each whether he/she wanted a particular item and why. He then awarded the item to one party before going on to the next one. This lasted several hours and probably cost nearly as much as the items about which they were fighting were worth. That is an extreme example. Don’t expect a judge to have the patience or the time to do that in your case. It’s time consuming, expensive and embarrassing. Many years ago, after nearly nine hours of negotiating over personal property, the parties turned to the last two items – a green crockpot and an orange crockpot. One party suggested they each take one. The other wanted both and was prepared to spend as much as a case of crockpots would cost to win. After nearly an hour, the more rational one gave in. In the end, stuff is just stuff.

Sarah enjoys writing often and likes to write about past
experiences. “Like the time I got my pet cat Twinkle or my gerbil Squeaks. I will probably keep writing stories but I don’t plan to make it a career. I would like to become a veterinarian when I get older.” In her free time, Sarah likes to read books such as The Sister Grimm Series. One of her hobbies is art and likes to do challenging art pieces.

As Lunch Break prepares for their Fifth Annual Gala, they are announcing an online auction of iconic photographs by famed photographer, Mark Weiss, to benefit their more than 31 years dedicated to helping those community members in need. His photos of Rock & Roll celebrities from the 70's and 80's—all signed by Weiss and his subjects, is known by the campaign name, “Feels Like the First Time,” borrowed from the Foreigner song. These unique limited edition photographs are from the first time Weiss photographed each artist and are hand-picked from his extensive archives spanning over 35 years. JACQUIE LEE CONCERT BENEFITS UNION BEACH
I
n a special concert billed as, “Two Towns-One VoiceOne Mission,” Colts Neck native Jacquie Lee, who was first runner up on The Voice, performed before an audience of about 800 people. The concert was held at the Robert J. Collins Arena, Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, and will benefit the residents of Union Beach who are still struggling to rebuild following Super Storm Sandy. The concert was hosted by Operation Provide Comfort (OPC), a Colts Neck-based organization that started with a few people but quickly grew to include over 30 Colts Neck residents as well as the support of the Colts Neck Business Association. One of the founding members Glen Dalakian said, “OPC has been there since the beginning. When OPC Founder Lt. Col. James Sfayer, USMC Retired approached me about the concept, we were all still in the throes of helping people recover in the days and weeks immediately following the storm in 2012. We committed to a long-term plan to help our neighbors and have been at it ever since.” Union Beach Administrator Jennifer Maier shared this, “Immediately after Super Storm Sandy hit, Operation Provide Comfort (OPC) was founded by a strong group of Colts Neck residents to assist Union Beach in the recovery process. It is so exciting for Union Beach residents to have Jacquie Lee volunteer her time to perform in order to raise funds for OPC. OPC always asks ‘What do you need now?’ as the needs of Union Beach residents have changed over time from immediate survival to rebuild efforts.

Union Beach is so grateful for OPC and their caring and dedication through this difficult time. Eighty-five percent of our homes were flooded, 300 homes have been demolished. We still have 400 families displaced, and we want to bring them home.” Founder of OPC Lt. Col. James Sfayer, USMC, Ret., explained, “Our focus on helping Union Beach is far from over. With this concert, we hope to raise awareness that there is still so much more to do.” Sfayer said they just found out there are 150 more homes that need to be demolished and the emotional impact that has had on the Union Beach residents has been overwhelming. Sfayer emphasized, “This concert was just the beginning, not the end. We wanted to raise awareness that the rebuilding is not over; that there is still so much more to do, and that the need for funding is still there. We (OPC) won’t go away until Union Beach tells us to go away. We are in this for as long as it takes.” Sfayer said of the concert, “It was a great success. Jacquie Lee presented Union Beach with a check for $30,000 from the concert.” Lee said she couldn’t imagine not having a home to come to. Being able to perform in concert to benefit the many families of Union Beach who are still displaced was important to her. As the leaves start to fall and the days get a little shorter — we all have that urge to cozy up next to a campfire and enjoy the few fleeting nights we have left where the temperature is just comfortable enough to stay outdoors. Our suggestion? Invite over some good friends, neighbors or your sweetie and warm up with some delicious cocktails and reminisce about the summer!
Below are some recipes to get started, in the spirit of the season. They are sure to warm you up and cozy you in for the fall ahead.
The S’More This cocktail is toasty and delicious, just like the summertime favorite. Garnish with a campfire toasted marshmallow and graham crackers for the full experience.
The Pumpkin Pie This one is a chilled cocktail, but tastes so much like Thanksgiving dinner it’s sure to bring in the season with a delicious and classic bang. My suggestion is to wear your comfiest sweater while enjoying this one!

8oz of Fresh Hot Chocolate
(bonus for one with mini marshmallows!)
•
10oz of heated apple cider
•
2oz Marshmallow Flavored Vodka
•
2 oz of Cinnamon Flavored Whiskey
•
4oz of pumpkin pie filling
•
2oz Frangelico
(like Fireball)
•
4oz whole milk
•
Toasted Marshmallow and Graham Cracker Crumbs (Optional)
•
2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
•
4oz Horchata Flavored Liquor
•
Whipped Cream
•
Ice cubes to desired thickness
•
Ground Cinnamon or Cinnamon Sticks
•
Whipped Cream, a straw, and nutmeg to garnish
Prepare hot chocolate according to the package instructions. In two mugs and 1 oz each of marshmallow flavored vodka and Frangelico and top with 4oz of prepared hot chocolate. Top with a freshly toasted marshmallow, and sprinkle with ½ tsp of graham cracker crumbs if desired.

Hot Apple Cider This is a wonderful classic flavor for the fall season. The sweetness of the apple cider and the warmth of the cinnamon liquor will really put a smile on your face and warm you up just like a seat by the fire.
In each of two mugs add 1oz of Cinnamon Whiskey and 1tsp of vanilla extract, top with 5oz of hot apple cider and whipped cream. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon and serve immediately.

Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth (if it becomes too thick add more milk, if it becomes too thin add more ice). Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

f you are a divorced father of young children, sharing time with your kids on weekends can be a joy. Except when it’s time to eat. Let’s face it, a lot of men aren’t comfortable in the kitchen and don’t have a lot of experience preparing family meals. So when the kids ask, “What’s for dinner?” many newly single dads resort to fast food and pizza.
Dining out can get expensive. And cheaper options like fast food and takeout aren’t healthy meals for growing kids. That’s why single dad and self-taught cook Ken Lowenstein of Keyport, put together “The Divorced Dads Cookbook,” a collection of easy-to-prepare recipes that are sure to please even the fussiest eaters. “I learned by trial and error,” said Ken. “Eventually, I had some tried and true recipes that my kids and I enjoyed preparing and eating together. We shared a lot of great times together preparing and eating meals, and we have a lot of great memories.” “The Divorced Dad’s Cookbook” blends personal stories about parenting and cooking with practical advice and recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With one hour left to go at the Colts Neck Fair this year, Brendan Clark, a 16-year-old Colts Neck resident, stepped up to the Hole-inOne golf contest sponsored by the Colts Neck Lions Club, picked out a club, placed his ball on the ground and swung. Brendan, a member of the CBA Varsity Golf Team, is very familiar with a golf club but the Hole-In-One challenge is difficult - even for the best golfers. The rules for the contest were simple. Hit (or as golfers say – drive) the ball about 72 yards, over the pond and into the hole and win $1,000. If no one gets a hole-in-one then the closest to the pin (flag stick) is the winner. As Brendan struck the ball it looked good as it took flight. There was hope that it was going to be a good shot. When it settled, a member of the Lions Club measured the ball distance to be 1’8” from the center of the cup. That was the closest to that point and with no others coming closer following Brendan’s drive, he was declared this year’s winner. Brendan was presented with a $250 check at the Colts Neck Lions Club August meeting. Congratulations, Brendan!

CONTINUES TO RAISE FUNDS
T
his year’s fifth annual fundraiser, Walk the Walk with Kevin Kret, was held on the evening of August 12 on the track of Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) campus. Although it was a rainy evening, devoted friends and numerous family members of Kevin’s arrived to continue the tradition of this important walk. All donations will go directly to Kevin’s Journey of Hope, and will be used for medical expenses and equipment not covered by insurance.
Kret, a 2008 graduate of CBA, had been a freshman at Villanova University prior to his accident. On July 31, 2009, Kret was skateboarding without his helmet, hit some debris left on the road from the previous night’s storm, and fell hitting his head. He became unconscious and suffered a traumatic brain injury to his brain stem. His close friend Eric Van Schaack, an EMT technician who received the 9-1-1 call, was able to administer immediate medical attention. Kret was taken immediately to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where a neurosurgeon awaited his arrival. His parents Michael and Joan, as well as brother Dylan, 21, and sisters Megan, 19 and Jenny, 17, remain dedicated to Kret’s “Journey of Hope” to consciousness. This year, the theme for the Walk with Kevin fundraiser was “A Long Year”, noted Co-chair of the event

Nicole Ardito. She explained that Kret had a serious setback in the spring, which required hospitalization and a ventilator. He is continuing to recover at home. So, this year the Walk with Kevin fundraiser was slightly different. “We wanted to change it up a bit and add something new so we held a bake sale,” said Ardito. Also new and exciting was a visit from New Jersey native Frankie Montecalvo, a professional racecar driver. As one who truly understands the importance of wearing a helmet, Montecalvo shared some of the crashes he has been in where his helmet saved his life. “Frankie walked with us and did a quick question and answer time which was really cool! He also signed autographs.” said Ardito. Soon after Kret’s accident, his mother Joan along with the CYO group from his parish, started a campaign to raise awareness regarding the importance of wearing a helmet for a variety of recreational sports. The Helmets For Life group visits schools and promotes helmet safety through the telling of Kret’s story. Ardito shared what an inspiration the family and community has been. “Despite the weather being an issue, I was really surprised over 150 people came out to support Kevin. And raising over $10,000 in one night alone is something to be proud of! I am really happy to have been Co-chair with by best friend Victoria again! When the walk idea surfaced five

years ago, I was a Volunteer. These past three years as Chair of the event has been one of those experiences that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Knowing that I have helped the Kret Family in any way is such an amazing feeling. But over these past five years I have really been able to get to know the family, and to watch their faith get stronger and stronger as the years go by. It’s a sight to see.” Co-Chair Victoria Gemignani added, “It has been a pleasure cochairing the walk with Nicole once again because the Kret family is so loving and strong in their faith. We want to continue to stick by them and support them as Kevin continues his journey to recovery.” Since the accident, monies raised have given the Kret’s the ability to purchase medical equipment and experimental treatments in trial. Some items purchased are exercise equipment to continually maintain Kevin’s muscles, a muscle stimulator to stimulate his muscles, and a cooling system to help regulate Kevin’s body temperature,” explained Ardito. On August 7, 2014, the Newcomers and Neighbors Club board met to prepare for the upcoming season of fun, friendship, educational events, social events and service to the community. The first general meeting of the fall season will be held at the Conover Road Firehouse #2 in Colts Neck at 9:30 a.m. on September 11, 2014. Any new or long-time resident of Colts Neck, Holmdel and surrounding areas may attend the meeting as a guest. Wins Manalapan Memorial Day Tourney The Holmdel FC Shamrocks U12G team won the Manalapan Memorial Day Soccer Tournament held on May 23-25, 2014. The Shamrocks went 2-0-1 in bracket play, outscoring their opponents 6-1. In the finals, they faced regular MOSA opponent Battle of Monmouth (BOM) United in a close fought match. In the end, the Shamrocks prevailed with a 2-0 shutout.

ho knew 10 years ago that L.A. DANCE CENTER OF THE ARTS would be making a significant mark on the community and creating stars of the future? This September, L.A. DANCE will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary! The L.A. DANCE directors,
classes together and later reunited after college. They worked together at L.A. DANCE in Staten Island, NY for over 15 years. Dreaming of venturing into New Jersey, they finally made that dream a reality in September 2005. They found a great home in the cozy shopping center, Lincroft Commons in the heart of Lincroft. In 2011, Tracey Loiacono was named Artistic Director and her amazing ideas brought dances alive on stage. Her award winning style has been recognized with numerous “Best Choreography” awards in tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary pieces. Debra earned a B.F.A. cum laude in Dance Performance from the City
University of New York, Brooklyn College. She was a student of the highly respected dance program run by Artistic Director, the late June Lewis who was a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company. Debra was chosen to become a member of the repertory dance company, The Brooklyn Dance Theatre. Debra has performed through out the tri-state area giving theatrical dance performances, lecture demonstrations and working with dance companies performing with modern and jazz dance pieces. Her specialty and passion became performing for children at the Williamson Theatre in the famous Wizard of Oz and Peter and the Wolf. She has also worked in television and off Broadway!
including “Top Studio”, “Best Technique” and “Most Entertaining”. They have entered in many categories - including solo, duo, trio and group numbers. Throughout the years, they have earned titles of Miss Petite Starpower, Miss Teen Nexstar and Miss Senior On Stage America! Their students have also received scholarships to train at Broadway Dance Center, NYC to further their education in the dance world.

Over the past 10 years, the studio has proven that it’s not just about
dancing at the studio or the annual dance recital. Ms. Nicolosi has offered an after school dance program for the Lincroft Elementary School providing participating students with a performing arts experience. The L.A. Dance students have given back to the community in many ways with performances at schools, fall festivals, church fairs, senior living centers and charitable events. Danskin, the world’s leading manufacturer of women’s dance and active wear, invited 20 of the L.A. DANCE students to a model photo shoot at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank. After a professional hair and make-up session, Danskin provided the students with Danskin dancewear to model for the photographs that are used in Danskin’s newsletters and website. And just this past year, students appeared on the Lifetime channel show “Dance Moms”. Over the years, many L.A. Dance students’ graduates have gone on to be college dance majors, accepted careers as dancers on cruise ships, and performed in music videos.

Grace’s older brother, Christopher, also participated in CTY in 2012, and was honored for his exceptional performance as a middle school student on the college SAT, ACT or similar test. Christopher attended Ranney School from Pre-K through the eighth grade. 17th Annual Molzon’s Fall Festival to Benefit Lincroft Elementary PTA The Lincroft School PTA and Molzon’s Garden Center are proud to announce their collaborative efforts for the 17th Annual Molzon’s Fall Festival, which will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a rain date of Sunday, September 28, 2014. Molzon’s Garden Center is conveniently located in the heart of Lincroft at 140 Middletown-Lincroft Road. This is the Lincroft PTA’s kick-off fundraiser for the 20142015 school year. Molzon’s has committed to generously donate 15% of all proceeds from this day directly to the Lincroft Elementary School PTA. These proceeds are used towards the school year’s enrichment programs, technology
purchases, and classroom supplies. Please come and support this worthwhile event while having fun shopping for all your fall décor needs such as corn stalks, mums, bulbs, hay bales, and shrubs. If you don’t have time to shop, consider stopping by and picking up a Molzon gift card. The fundraiser will also have tons of fun activities for the kids, such as: caricaturists, arts & crafts, pony rides, hay rides, games, baked goods and a food court. Chabad’s Open Door Policy Welcomes Everyone In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish New Yearm which will be celebrated from September 24 through September 26, 2014 - the Chabad Jewish Center of Holmdel announced its High Holiday Services schedule. They will be “warm, friendly, traditional, and open to all,” says Chabad’s Executive Director, Rabbi Shmaya Galperin. All services will take place at the Holmdel Fire House Hall in Holmdel. “According to tradition, at the New Year, the doors of heaven are open and God accepts all prayers from anyone,” said Rabbi Galperin. “The least we can do is open our doors as well, to the entire community.” Judaism is accessible to all Jews, and during the High Holidays, our goal is to encourage every Jew to actively participate in these most holy and introspective days.
All are welcome regardless of background or affiliation. There is no charge or Chabad membership requirement to attend the services; however, a $54 per seat donation is suggested and a sponsorship may be obtained for a $500 donation. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
