Colts Neck Band Announces Concert Dates for 2023-2024 Season The Colts Neck Community Band is excited to announce their 22nd season concert schedule. Please mark your calendar for their Winter Concert on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 7:30 pm at Colts Neck High School, located at Route 537 and Five Point Road. The concert will feature many styles of music offering fun for all ages! Included in the program are music from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and the exciting Rise of the Firebird by Steven Reineke. Music celebrating nature will include Northern Lights by Yukiko Nishimura and Elements by Brian Balmages, the latter featuring a movement representing each of the four elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Listeners will enjoy playful and imaginative pieces called Rocketship! by Kevin Day and Mischievous Behavior by Rossano Galante. Featured on this program is Vinnie Sorenson, the band’s principal saxophonist, who will perform the lush and lyrical composition Persuasion by Sammy Nestico, an American composer and arranger best known for his big band and

jazz arrangements. Come and enjoy this fun and eclectic program that the band is preparing for you. Looking ahead to the spring, please reserve Thursday, May 9th for the Colts Neck Community Band’s Spring Concert at Colts Neck High School and Friday, June 7th for their outdoor concert in the Activity Barn at Thompson Park in Lincroft. The Colts Neck Community Band has been hailed as one of the finest concert bands in the state of New Jersey and is under the guidance of its music director Kelly Tyma with conductors Mel Chayette, David Crosby, Eric Robertshaw and Don Swinchoski.
